Ernst Wahliss Porcelain Figurine of Young Boy Holding Pear
This is a beautiful piece by Ernst Wahliss who had established himself in the late 1880's as Vienna's leading retailer in porcelain goods. In 1894. He purchased the Alfred Stellmacher factory in Turn-Teplitz, Bohemia, and began to produce decorative ceramics under the name Ernst Wahliss Kunst- Porzellan- und Fayence-Fabrik. By 1907 his son Gerhard Martin Wahliss owned the factory and continued to create a variety of functional and decorative items in earthenware and porcelain. This piece features a small boy leaning and holding a green pear.

Offered here for your consideration is an antique Ernst Wahliss turn teplitz female warrior princess figurine from the late 19th to early 20th century. It is in alas not perfect condition with old professional restorations and is still needing repair. Has losses to back of her hair and to staff in her hand. There are chips to top of her skirt and hair and old repairs to base and plinth. Figure is covered in a lot of brown and grey overpaint still. Scuffs. Scratches and other signs of expected light wear commensurate with age. Please see our many photos for details. Overall, this is an incredible figurine and will be more so once properly restored. Ernst Wahliss Turn Teplitz Wien Austria Art Nouveau Porcelain Lady Bust Figurine
I will be adding many more figurines in the next week so please check back. I am also listing another bust right now. This an unusual antique bust of a young woman with a bunch of grapes in her teeth. She is wearing elaborate clothing. Including her large bonnet with detailed plumes atop it. Her long hair is tied back and flowing over one shoulder. This piece is expertly modelled and hand painted in attractive pastel colors. Even the bottom of the base has bunches of grapes on it. It is very heavy and measures just over 15" high and about 10" wide. She makes a beautiful display, please enlarge all photos to see the detail of this piece, as well as condition. There are some old professional restorations to the sides of the bonnet, touch up to grapes and possibly a ruffle and left lapel which is typical of a piece this age. Superb Antique Ernst Wahliss Teplitz Austrian Spill Vase This amazing figural vase of an old woman carrying a basket and wheel of bread is crafted with amazing detail. Done probably around the turn of the century. It is embossed Made in Austria 4532 as well as I assume the decorators mark 4532I 409. 2. in green paint. Simply stunning she is very carefully hand painted with much attention to detail and accented in a gold wash that is quite eye-catching. From the buttons right down to the hem of her apron with its beautiful watercolor like flowers; this piece is all quality! I believe this piece probably had a paper label at one time as there are remnants of a sticker on the underside. In doing some research I learned that the company did use a paper label. This has the look of Royal Dux but I believe it more likely Wahliss after comparing ... morehow the underside looks with the impressed marks and painted numbers to other known pieces of Wahliss Teplitz that are marked with a stamp. In nice vintage condition with no breaks or cracks save for one break to the handle of her basket. Probably done when someone was trying to remove a match and got a bit too rough(see pic) it really doesn’t detract for the aesthetics of the piece and if it were filled you would likely not even notice. The item has a little surface grim but I will let the next own choose how best to clean.
