The Rubber Mold First the artist creates an original sculpture out of any number of media. Including stone, wax, clay, wood and pottery. This image is coated with a silicone rubber molding material that makes two rubber mold halves(each rubber mold has a front and a back piece) A fiberglass outer shell is added to the back of each mold so it retains its shape and rigidity during subsequent uses. This is a beautiful half doll related ballerina dancer figurine made in Germany. Her arms are raised in a dance pose. The skirt of her dress is white with blue and gold gilt flowers and her bodice is painted in gold gilt. Approximately 4 1/2 inches tall and 2 1/2 inches wide. Marked on the bottom with a blue crown and N as shown. This is a beautiful 2 piece Dresden ballerina lady dancer figurine flower frog or hatpin holder that was manufactured in Germany by Volkstedt. The ballerina's bodice is green and her tutu is also accented in that color. The bottom of her base is accented in gold gilt. The bowl is white and it is accented in gold gilt around its edges. Antique Muller Volkstedt"Carmen" Figurine This is a gorgeous. Rare Irish Dresden lace figurine by Muller Volkstedt depicting the beloved"Carmen, the Spanish flamenco dancer from Georges Bizet's opera of the same name. Carmen's dress is a froth of lace in striking black and white. Set off by red heels and choker and gold details. Her face is beautiful, her demeanor fierce, and her pose in dance captures the movement of the Spanish flamenco. This figurine is delightfully detailed and stands 6" high. The mark of the the bottom is the crown MV mark which dates this to the years between 1907 and 1949. It is also marked"Dresden, Ireland. On close inspection I find one spot of missing black lace at her back, and there may be other losses that are too tiny to find. Hidden underneath the white ruffles I find some yellowed ... morespots which are probably glue from an old repair to the lace. I don't see any sign of damage to the base, her body, or her head. This is a gorgeous porcelain or ceramic art deco hand painted spanish flamenco dancer figurine by GoldCrest Fine China. The colors on this figure and very vibrant. Her top and scarf is a purple color and her skirt is black with hand painted red flowers. Her underskirt is painted red. She is holding a yellow and gold fan and her skirt seems to be flowing as if she has just finished a twirl. She is in excellent condition. With one elbow bent. And her hand on her waist, she poses with her right arm outstretched with her wrist gracefully bent. Her dancing attire features a fully gathered three-tiered pink lace skirt. In the Dresden figurine style, her skirt is adorned with two yellow flowers, as is her white short-sleeved top. Her hair and facial features are painted delicately soft and lush. The glisten of the glaze draws one’s eye toward her beautiful face. The dancing figure stands on a one and one-quarter inch round base. The base is highlighted with gold details, as are her ballerina flats. The porcelain house markings on this piece are printed in grey under the glaze. A three section domed crown is above the letters H U S. Under the letters is a line that resembles a bird in flight. Germany“ and two small indistinguishable marks are below the other symbols. Direct from a local estate is this lovely vintage porcelain ballerina figurine. She's positioned in a graceful pose with her arms in the air while on her toes. Her tutu is lilac color with gold accents on the bust and edge of the tut u and she's wearing gold slippers. She has blond hair and blue eyes. The base is marked in red(pictured) Fasold& Stauch. Co. of Bock Wallendorf, Germany. Based on the style of the ballerina I estimate the age to be from the 1930's. Measures: 9” tall– tutu has 3 1/2” circumference Condition: Excellent vintage condition– she has no cracks. Chips or breaks. Fingers are perfect.
