Crown Staffordshire House Wren Bird Figurine Linley Adams Made in England Mark
Offered for your consideration is this fantastic bird marked with the second Crown Staffordshire mark. And signed by artist and designer Barbara Linley Adams. She also marked it"House Wren" and the number 259. This bird measures approximately 3 3/8" in height. The mark on the bottom is in excellent legible condition. According to websites regarding the dating of Crown Staffordshire. It seems to indicate the bird was made between 1906 and 1930. However, I do not believe this is accurate as the designer, Barbara Linley-Adams, died in 1995. She was known to work there as late as 1962, but I do not know how early she started working there. This comes from the collection of my late Grandmother. And I am listing her entire collection. A superb. Crown Staffordshire porcelain figure of a young girl picking flowers, on a flower encrusted base. Modelled by T.M. Bayley and dating to the 1930's. Marked and signed on the base. Measuring 5.25" high and 7" in diameter at the base. Inevitably with a piece of this type, there is some minor chipping to some petals and a couple of stalks of daffodils broken, and a firing flaw beneath the base and some crazing to the glaze(see photos) Generally in good condition.

ANTIQUE ENGLAND CROWN STAFFORDSHIRE CERAMIC CANDELABRA FIGURINE EARLY 1900 RARE
For Sale is a Ceramic Figurine with Candelabra made by Crown Staffordshire Porcelain Company. The piece is from the early 1900s and has the Crown Staffordshire printed stamp on the bottom(I was told it was from 1906 from an antique dealer. But there is no actual date that I can see on the bottom stamp, which is pretty worn) The piece is approximately 8" tall and 7 1/2" wide(at its widest point) The piece is in good condition. Except for a crack on one side where the figure's arm joins the candelabra(please see close up pictures of crack- it can be seen all the way around) I'm not sure if it has ever been glued where this crack is. There are also obvious signs of crazing in the glaze. The piece is very elegant and I haven't seen anything quite like it in researching this company. There is no reserve. I am not a collector ... morenor an expert in this area. So please examine all pictures carefully(I have taken pictures from all angles for your reference) Thank you for your interest!

IM NOT A FAN OF PETER PAN BUT I HAVE RESEARCHED THE CHARACTERS AND DATES AND ALL FALLS IN LINE WITH THIS BEAUTIFUL FIGURINE ON THE BOTTOM MANTLE"CAPTAIN HOOK" CAN BARELY BE MADE OUT. THE STORY WAS VERY POPULAR IN THE EARLY 20TH CENTURY AND IN SOME ACCOUNTS IT IS HIS RIGHT HAND(AS IN THIS CASE) THAT HAS THE HOOK. MOST MODERN ILLUSTRATIONS HAVE IT AS THE LEFT. IT IS WONDERFUL SHAPE WITH NO ISSUES EXCEPT HAIRLINE CRAZE AROUND THE MORE INTRICATE AREAS. THE MARK DATES FROM THE 1900'S-30'S AND APPEARS TRUE IN COLOR.
