Some embossed mark on the bottom, plus embossed crossed lines with S in center. written in pencil, Berlin Germany July 1857, 88 years old and some other pencil marks on outer edge, I take it that this piece was purchased in Berlin in 1957 and the buyer was told that it was 88 years old. I am not familiar with this mark, The end of the flute near the man's mouth looks to have been repaired, and two of the four embossed flowers have a chip on one petal, otherwise no chips or cracks or flakes or repairs. 3 crossed swords mark porcelain CHERUB nut dishes
Puzzling set of 3 porcelain Cherub nut dishes. The one pictured in the center belongs to the strong underglaze blue crossed swords mark which looks to me like the Meissen mark for 1920 to 1930. This piece has the most damage. His garland is entirely replaced and there is a small shallow chip to the top rim. Each measures about 4 3/4" by 2 3/8" wide. The other two are ALMOST identical to the first apart from the leg pose. Also there is something going on with the mark. The glaze above the top portion of each mark is ground away-almost looks like it was to obscure part of the mark.
