Folk Art Soft Paste Clowns Girl Boy-handpainted-hand dressed-circa 1900
All we can say is WOW! We have never seen anything that has taken our breathe away like this pair of 14" Boy& Girl clowns. Appears to be of soft paste with handpainted face features and molded hair. The clothing is cloth which has either stiffened with age or was made to be stiff. The pointed clown hats are covered with strips of the same material as the clothing. There are no cracks.Chips,breaks etc. We found these in the attic along with the Georg LeyKauf(also on auction tonight) on a house call.
