The flame mahogany looks incredible. With a rich complexion and a pronounced grain that are sure to complement any setting. The writing surface is inlaid with rich brown leather bordered by gold tooling-which was replaced during a recent restoration that also included a new coat of hand-rubbed wax. In total, this desk features three drawers and two cabinets on one side, with seven standard drawers and a file drawer on the other. Conveniently this desk disassembles quite easily: like all pedestal desks, the top simply rests securely on the two pedestals. A Rare Pair of Antique English Black& White Seated Spaniel Figures. Circa 1850. Spaniel Figures are painted in black enamels at nose and paws, seated facing to the left and right. The Spaniels are wearing brass collars with lock, seated on oval grassy mounds in front of picket fence. There is some wear to the paint, particularly around the base, and discoloration to the underside of the base itself. In nice condition, these figures measure 6 1/2" tall, 5" long, and 2 1/2" wide. The vase is 13" higjh and 8" wide. It does have some condition issues. There is a significant repair to the top and a hairline crack about 1" long on the lower left side. Thre is a firing flaw in the dogs right ear as well. Please see all photos. Guaranteed to be as described. English Antique Staffordshire Dog Flower Pottery Vase circa 1850
Hello. You are admiring a very sweet piece of history donated to a missionary. I am not an antique dealer just someone who needs to sell this lovely piece. The donator said this sweet puppy was an English Staffordshire Dog Vase. CIRCA 1850; a rare Staffordshire Spaniel Dog with lovely golden brown spots and an orangey-red flower; the vase measures about 13" high and 8" wide. PLEASE look carefully at the pictures for the condition. It appears to be in excellent condition—BUT I am not a dealer just an admirer. NO RETURNS so please examine carefully. Victorian Early Parian figure of Dorothea by Minton / John Bell - Circa 1850
This is a fine piece of Parian by Minton. The subject is Dorothea and it was modeled by John Bell. Measurements: 14 inches in height. Condition: the is in good condition with age appropriate wear. There are two known issues. There is a chip to Dorothea's cap on her left shoulder. Also. It appears her shoe was reattached in an early repair. See photos for more detail. Base is marked"Minton" and"189" for the model number. On the side. It has the Minton moulded marks applied in relief including the Felix Summerly and John Bell cartouche in use circa 1847-9. And it has the registered diamond indicating that this design was registered at the Patent Office on Oct. 4, 1847. Extremely Rare Jean Jeune Gille Bisque figures Circa 1850 French 12"
Up for consideration is an extremely rare pair of mid 19th Century Antique mid French Bisque figures by Jean Gille or Jeune Gille. The date pre 1868 Gille. The figures measure about 12 inches and the other about 13 inches. Both are stamped JG on blue raised bisque pad. They are of the finest quality and are second to none.
