Pair of Porcelain Dalmation Dogs. Gold Anchor Mark, Chelsea Samson?
A wonderful pair of ceramic Dalmation dogs figurines. Hand painted and both different. Stands 3 3/4" tall and 2 3/8" in diameter. They have the gold anchor painted mark( Chelsea Samson} on the underside. This is confusing to me since all the research I have done shows the Samson Chelsea gold anchor painted on the base. And not the underside. They belonged to my late mother and she had them for over 40 years, they were always kept in a curio cabinet. They are in pristine condition, no chips, cracks or crazing.

Antique German Chelsea Samson Style Gold Anchor Mark Grayhound ? Dog On Grass
Offering a very early Circa 1900 and could be older. German version of A Chelsea Samson Dog figurine with a Gold Anchor mark. Looks to me to be a Greyhound. A Dalmatian has smaller spots, but I am no expert on dogs types so have a good look at the photos. You be the judge. Condition as good as the day it was manufactured other than Normal Age ware to the base bottom. A speck of paint loss to one ear tip two specks to leg. all show in photos This was inspected under 50x magnification and are not chips. I find a lot of Italian porcelain What I call spaghetti and is always chipped and is very fragile this piece has Spaghetti Grass base under close magnification, not even a flea bite chip have a look at the photos Piece measures 3.50" in height base is 2.20" Round. The realistically molded figurine bust of a lady with Highland Mary glazed on. Very nice 1800's details and coloring. A gold anchor mark on the back of the base. The reverse rim of the base printed Germany. In very good condition, but might use a slight cleaning. Mid to late 19th century. Measures 4 1/4" high. 3" wide, 2 1/4" deep approx. Antique Chelsea Samson SPOTTED CAT- 19th Century - Marked Germany w /Gold Anchor
Offered for sale is a delightful little miniature figurine marked Chelsea Samson. This exquisite piece carries the gold anchor mark on the top of the base at the rear. The gold anchor mark is between the darling yellow and black spotted cat's tail and the top of the green plinth it is seated on. It measures approximately 2. 1/2" tall with a 2" x 1 1/4" oval base. This piece was made in and marked in gold GERMANY on the underside. The gold anchor mark was typically used by the Chelsea factory in England in the 18th Century. Edme Samson and his son. Emile, built their business by making copies of items from the famous factories of the day such Chelsea, Derby, Meissen and Sevres, French faience and even Chinese wares. Over the years, these copies have become collector's piece in their own right. At any rate, this little ... morecat is enchanting. It has a nice weight for being so small and is very nicely finished. I would guess these are probably from 1875-1900 period. Because of the Dresden type coloring) Although they could be much earlier. I know the gold anchor Chelsea mark was used from 1756-1769, and was the most forged mark. I have seen a mark with this S type going through that was considered Chelsea. There are other marks with the S figure, but they seem to be going the other way, and contributed to other markers. I just do not know or have I been able to find out who for sure who made these. There are parts of them that look like so many different makers combined. If anyone has information or guesses, please inform me.
