Moulin, a shopkeeper's son, entered the école des Beaux-Arts in 1855 but was unable to afford to continue the lessons and had to become a language teacher in Paris to support himself. He subsequently studied with Auguste-Louis-Marie Ottin and with Antoine-Louis Barye. His bronze statue A Lucky Find at Pompeii(Une Trouvaille à Pompei) 1863) depicts a nude boy with a spade dancing for joy with one leg raised. Because he has unearthed a Roman statuette. Replica of Limoges Bust of Young Girl and Boy in Bisque
Other than the original Limoges busts. These are the only busts I could find on line like these. These are very good replicas, measuring 10" tall, the boy is numbered(on the bottom) 6113 and the girl is numbered 8113(the numbers are imprinted into the lip of the bottom in red ink. We could find no damage. They look like they are bisque for the bust and porcelain stands. Very nice, unique is size and quality.

Being offered is a neat set of Bust that are signed on the back and has the blue ink markings on the bottom. I can not make the signature out on the back nor do I know the marking but it does say made in Italy and they are numbered. I don't see any chips or cracks. Paint looks to be slightly worn on their nose and a few tips of their hair. These neat little detailed pieces stand about 5" tall. Could use a mild cleaning to get some light soiling from being handled over the years.

Vintage Porcelain Bisque Reproduction Bust of Houdon's Young Boy Sculpture. There is no manufacturing marks on this lovely piece. But research did yield that this sized piece was produced in 1958 by French Sevres Porcelain Factory. I am far from an art historian but here are few of the items I found. 1958 production of the very famous bust that was done by Jean Antoine Houdon. The pre-eminent French sculptor of the 18th and early 19th centuries. The details depict a spirited young man. With tousled hair and an unbuttoned shirt. It rests on a glossy pedastal. The bisque and porcelain pedestal have no visible cracks or chips. It has darkened with age to have a lovely patina. It measures: 8 1/4" tall. 5" wide at the shoulders. Bust will be insured and securely packaged.

Is signed with the following impressed marks: Artist’s initials‘ED’ or'BD' the word‘Sevres’ and a triangle with the letter‘S’ and the date‘1 9 07. François-Raoul Larche was a French Art Nouveau sculptor best known for his numerous female figures. Both nude and draped. This particular sculpture is titled" Jesus au millieu des doctors" or"Christ amongst the doctors" From the Renaissance onwards Christ amongst the doctors has been a very popular subject with artists. This is a very cute German bisque bust half doll boy figurine. I had a few old Rudolstadt bisque figurines and this one. Not marked, looks very similar to the ones I had and one that I currently own. The outfit looks to be a pale blue with gold trim. It looks like the boy is holding a letter. The fingers on his right hand are all there, they are just curled under. Sweet looking little boy with a darling outfit. Figurine weighs 1 lb. and 12 oz. Nice for the collector. Condition: Half of the left hand middle finger is chipped off. Wonderful signed Bernard Bloch terracotta bust of a boy. He stands 15" tall and 9" wide at the shoulders. Excellent condition with only minor glaze chips& rubs. 1 very small chip on inside of bottom rim. Fully signed with the BB mark and 4049 mold numbers.
