~ Antique Sevres Urns ~ This is an early pair of French Sevres parian bisque covered urns decorated with figures of putti holding up swags of roses. A beautiful pair. They are large, each measuring 15 1/2" tall to the top of the lid finials. There are some old repairs. A few tiny nicks to flower petals and base rim, and one of the urns has a crack on the side as shown in the photos, however these pieces are heavy and sturdy and this does not affect the stability. This is an excellent quality bisque bust of Robert Burns. Very. Very nice piece. Could possibly be Parian Ware. 1759-1796 Scottish poet& lyricist, regarded as the national poet of scotland. I don't know anything about the piece. It belonged to my mother& has been boxed away for over 40 years& before that it belonged to my uncle who was an antique collector.The condition is perfect, no chips or cracks, 8" high, 4 3/4' across shoulders. Marked Burns across his back shoulders& also signed in a circle but I can't read it, it looks like RocL but I can't be sure. Antique Large Copeland Parian Bisque figural Mother and Child Staffordshire
We are pleased to offer this beautiful antique Parian bisque figural group depicting a mother and child. Possibly Copeland or another of the top quality English manufacturers. In excellent condition. However the finger and childs toy may have been repaired as they are showing a slightly different color. Measures about 12 inches tall, and the base measures 9 5/8 by 6 inches. The porcelain is slightly translucent when held to the light and has a very smooth polished finish. As found in a local estate and part of a collection of parian which was de accessioned in the late 1990's from the Bennington museum. Antique Porcelain Bisque Figurine of a victorian boy dressed in period clothing. Holding a flower leaning on a fence. Late 19th century- Early 20th century. Actual date is unknown believed to be of German origin. The boy is standing on a porcelain pedestal painted to look like marble. Ornate design painted on his clothing. Bright rosy cheeks, a fence with shrubs. The detailed gold gilt is rubbed off in some places through out the statue and he could could use a bath. I did not clean him. There is a very small chip on his left shoulder and there are no cracks. The overall condition of this piece is very good especially considering his age. I took many photo's in high definition at every angle and left the photo's side way's for a larger more detailed look. He stands 16 1/4 inches Tall and is 4 1/2 inches at the base. This is a beautiful antique porcelain figure of three children surrounded by an ormolu cage. I think it was at one time on a lamp. The figure appears German made. Possibly by the A.E. Muller factory and the cage looks to be French. Measures 9 1/2 inches high by 8 inches wide and is in overall excellent condition. Ormolu has some patina wear throughout the years, porcelain figure excellent besides the top of the boy's instrument and his one thumb. Very minor on display. It is marked on the back GERMANY and it has a number beneath that but I can't make it out. It has no chips or cracks, just some smudges here and there that didn't come off with dish soap. This is a lovely. Finely detailed figurine. Probably french. There is not maker listed anywhere but it is signed KLM and numbered 15.there is also the number 4154 on the back of the base. It measures 4 and 3/4 inches tall and the base is 2.5" L X 1.75" W. The tree trunk in the back is hollow and can be used for a flower, a pen or pencil, or a small candle. Antique German? Parian/ Bisque Piano babies Boy and Girl These are just adorable little piano babies. The little girl is approx 4" in ht. The little boy is approx 3 3/4" in ht. They are in very nice condition and from a local estate that had many wonderful things. There are no chips or cracks. They could probably use a good soaking but are fairly clean. THe little girl has an impressed number of 3534, the little boy has an impressed number of 3532. These are pure white but some photos look a little greyed. it is my lighting. I believe these are considered parian ware probably German and of the Victorian era. Please ask any questions prior to bidding. This is a beautiful pair of 16" tall antique Continental and most likely French figurines of a well dressed couple from the late 19th century. Quality and detail is exquisite. Very lifelike expressions on faces and raised intricate beading and decoration details throughout their elaborate dress from head to toe. Not being able to locate a mark at all would date them to earlier than 1892. They do resemble the work of VION& BAURY of Paris especially with the detail on the bases with the very sharp maroon design of C scrolls. She is missing two fingers on one right hand and on the other is good.PLEASE LOOK PICTURES NUMBER 13.Amazingly enough, these don't jump out as missing due to the positioning of her hands.The man also looks to have possibly been holding something else in addition to the bowl he is holding. Parian Bisque porcelain Figurine of Scheibe-Alsbach THE MERRY WIVES WINDSOR
Up in this auction is an amazing piece of antique German bisque porcelain. Much like the English Parian ware, it is a figural group statue of Shakespeare's play The Merry Wives of Windsor, Act III, Scene III, where Falstaff surrounded by the cast finds himself in a laundry basket. It is marked underneath with the late 1800's mark for Kister Scheibe Alsbach, Thuringia, Germany Porcelain company. Marked on the side Act III Sc III and marked on the back 9178 27. The only thing to note is Falstaff is missing his pinkie, BUT WHAT A STUNNING PIECE! It measures approx. 9 7/8" x 5 7/8" x 8 3/4" high. Truly gorgeous- good luck! There is a large chip to the shoulder and tiny firing flaws here and there, light surface scratches and scuffing throughout, as well as other light signs consistent with age. A very nice antique. 19TH C. hollow cast parian figurine with applied flowers and leaves. Carved near the bottom is"Flower Sellers" She is unsigned. Probably English made. She has soft matte marble-like texture that's smoother than bisque. She measures 13" tall. Good condition: a couple of flower petals are missing/chipped which is consistent with pieces of this age. Two small cracks in the lower bottom area, one on the side the other around her left foot. She so still lovely. All fragile items are wrapped and shipped with care. All pictures are included as part of the description. This item is used and although we try to find all condition issues. We do occasionally miss things. Item is sold"as is. Actual age is unknown. The maker’s mark is a hand-etched irregular oval with“S” within the oval. Given the age of the figurine. Exhaustive research has not revealed the maker. Note: To the right of the maker’s mark is a small oval with the letters“DEP. This mark is known to indicate either“Deponiert” which is German; In French. It means“Depose. Both indicate“Registered. The figurine is not numbered. Measures 12” high, and it is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. This figurine was part of an estate of an antiques collector and buyer who was well known to me for over 69 years.
