~ Antique / Vintage Bisque Porcelain Cherub Cupid in a Sleigh Figurine German ~
Featured for Auction we have an Antique/ Vintage bisque figurine of a cherub on the side of a dragon headed sleigh. Wonderful coloring. Probably hand painted in pastel colors, with raised enamel. At least we believe this is bisque it may be porcelain. The little cherub is just adorable with his wavy hair, blue eyes, pink wings, and his arrow on his side. It measures about 8 1/2" long by 5" wide and 6" tall. We believe it is German in Origin, but are not certain as there are No Markings. It is in wonderful condition, with minor chipping on the flowers. Also we don't know if the dragons nose is supposed to blunt as it is or if it was pointy originally and broken off and repainted, as it is hard to tell. If you look at the fifth picture, that yellowish spot looks to be a something goopy and mostly came off, you could probably ... moreclean it up even better, its not bad, but wanted to mention it. Antique Vintage German Bisque Doll or Girl figurine Planter with Cherub or Angel
You are bidding on one vintage bisque figurine made in Germany. This is a nice size piece. To me it looks like paradise. This is a very whimsicle piece. It measures approx 8 1/4 inches tall. Across the bottom 7 1/2 inches long by 4 1/2 inches wide. Measured across the front approx 8 inches long. This item is marked. It appears to be a G Dep and a number 8712 etched in the bottom. This is of a girl with a cherub or angel looking into a planter of some sought. On the bottom are two ducks drinking water from a water fall. Very nice piece. There are a few small chips. Around the top vase type part at the tips. I see three of the tips have small chips. On the cherub or boy his hand has two chips one on the inside and one on the outside. His purple wrap also has a small chip on the front and a larger chip on the side of it. I see a little chip ... morealso on one of the pieces of wood along the bottom basket. All chips are small. I used a magnifying glass to find most of them. There is some gold paint wear on the bottom of the girls skirt and other places. I am not sure what the makers marks for these type of items are, so I can not tell you who made them. I will however try to capture them in a picture for you to see. I was told this was German bisque, but again, I have no way of knowing for sure. This is an adorable item. Please see all pictures. I wish I could add more than twelve pictures for some of these pieces. This is an estate sale find, actually the bisque items came from a place that attends auctions and also purchases entire estates. I am not an expert. I will describe items to the best of my ability and tell you what I see. Because I am not perfect it is possible for me to miss something that is important to an expert. If I did not mention any other issues, I do not see any other issues. All of the pieces seem a bit dusty and could use to be wiped down with a damp cloth. This is a gorgeous pair of Cherubs. Excellent condition. The flowers seem to have all petals intact, the Cherubs fingers and toes are all intact. The faces are really beautiful and well done.1 finger on 1 Cherub has a line which looks like a break but it has no rough edges, so I think it happened during production and it could have been baked in that way. There are 2 black marks which also could be from production because they do not come off with magic eraser.You can see them on the arm.These are made by AnArt, Japan which reproduced these objects to mimic more expensive European pieces. This is an antique. Victorian bisque vase/ planter- very popular in the late 1800s. It is a cherub with a horn, riding on a sleigh with a purple dragon/ griffin/ swan head. No damage that I can see. The gold enameled dots look good too. There are no maker marks, but I suspect it is of german origin. I was told it could be Conta and Boehme, but I don't know about that. Antique Vion Baury French Sevres Porcelain Bisque Cherub Shoe Figurine Dresden
This is a beautiful rare to find early porcelain French bisque figure of two sweet cherubs hugging on the end of a pretty blue shoe. It was created mid 1800s by the Vion& Baury factory of France. You usually see this model made by other companies in a larger size and not quite as finely detailed as this one. It measures 4 x 3 1/4 x 2 1/4 inches and displays beautifully. Just two small shallow chips to one side of the ruffle, hard to notice on display due to the white ruffles. This item and others were discovered in my mother’s attic when the house was sold. I recall seeing them in the house when I was a child in the 1950’s.This is a large Vintage Carriage pulled by a Winged Cherub. Is made out of porcelain bisque and appears to be hand painted. The cherub is pulling a shell shaped carriage with a pink rose on the left front and the left rear. Please note that there are leaves missing from the rose on the left front. Victorian Era Bisque Porcelain Cherub With Horn Riding Swan Sleigh - German
This is an antique decorative piece of the sort that was popular in the late 19th century. A cherub with a horn. Riding a swan sleigh. Or if not a swan, perhaps a dragon or a griffin. Some sort of mythical creature. Often used as planters or vases. These items were frequently produced in Germany, and though there is no maker mark on this piece, I believe it was also likely made in Germany. In fact. I've been told it was probably made by the german company Conta and Boehme. It is 5.5" long x 3.5" wide and 4.25" tall. Overall it is in good condition. With the exception of the bottom of the horn being chipped off. Not immediately noticeable unless you know it's missing. See photos for condition details. Lovely decorative piece for your home.
