Wearing his famous hat and the uniform of Colonel of Chasseurs Cheval de la Garde Imperial. Over one sholder is a rain cape, all medal's and orders showing. Stern look on his face, good details. Here is a great set of 4 Porcelain Soldiers for your buying consideration. Recently acquired it at an estate sale. Would make a great gift or keep it for yourself! We are open to piecing these figures out individually if any party is interested in doing that way as well. The company name noted on the bottom of the pieces is"Porcelaine de Paris" and then has a cross arrow image. The painting and glaze on each of the pieces still looks good. Very little crazing going on. The colors and detailing are very eye catching. I see no cracks. Chips, or repairs to report to you. Some minor paint loss along some edges, probably from polishing over the years. The hands and ... morefingers are all intact too. Not sure if any of the pieces actually held something in their hands at some point or not. Kind of posed that way, but I see no markings on the inside of the hands that would indicate that something was affixed there at any point in the past. The one piece standing with his arms crossed is a rendering of Napoleon with the years of his birth and death noted on the tombstone that his cape is draped over. The other 3 pieces have a round base and are probably renderings of soldiers in Napoleon's army. The Napoleon piece has a square base. The others have a round base. Found a Napoleon online from this company with an elevated base and the tombstone that went for $399 by itself. The porcelain figures are 8.25" to 8.75" tall. It dates from the mid to late 19th century and is in overall good to fair condition with old repairs with overpaint to the neck and the 2 front corners of the plinth. Losses to the laurel leaf crown in his hair, fritting to other corners and edges of the plinth base, light glaze and surface scratches and scuffing throughout, and other signs of light wear consistent with age.
