$15.00 Shipping Location: Keene, United States For sale is a special treat- an extremely rare and early small coffee pot and its lid made by Meissen in about 1725. It has a really nice shape with the ... moreearly handle which I like very much and the spout is a bit different than later ones as well. It is also quite interesting that the body must have been made first then cut open at the bottom to attach the base. That is evident from the inside which I tried to show in a picture but it's hard to see there. The pot is superbly handpainted with an early Indian Flowers(Indianische Blumen) design in the Kakiemon palette. The colors are bright and fresh. The underglaze blue parts are highlighted with gilding. A real fun design with bugs and a bird included. Even the handle has plenty of flowers on it as does the lid which has an iron red and gold design to the rim and a simple finial typical to this period painted with gilding. My favorite part is that this piece is in superb condition with barely any wear even to the gild highlights. There is one tiny flat chip to the very to rim of the pot which is not obvious at all! Some roughness to the footring but that is all original from the making! On top of that it is superbly marked with about every type of mark one could wish for- the underglaze blue crossed swords(about as early a version as you can have) The bossierers marks impresed(a star and a line) a blue painter's mark(a K. I think but hard to read) and a painter's mark L. in puce. The piece is 7 inches tall and 3.75 inches in diameter. The heavy porcelain figurine of a cupid or putto is surrounded by and holding flowers with a quiver full of arrows. The fine hand-painted porcelain figurine has a raised oval plaque on the front with the French words“Je les Ramene” written in script. The figure is signed on the underside with the blue under-glaze crossed swords Meissen mark. The number 11 in red glaze and an impressed“F12” and“48” The Meissen figure has tiny chips to a few of the flowers and an approximate ½” crack on the pedestal that is holding flowers. Rare smaller Meissen Porcelain Figure.M 104 91"Love Bound" A LOVELY MEISSEN CUPID PUTTO TIED UP. This"Love Bound" German figurine depicting the god Cupid dates from the 19TH CENTURY. Cupid is the god of desire. Erotic love, attraction, and affection. As you can see by viewing the pictures. Our poor little putto sits on a on circular grassy pedestal. The perimeter of Cupid's pedestal is painted in beautiful hues of blues and pinks and accented with gold draping and a sea shell design. This little angel and mighty cherub is sans clothing with only a pink/mauve cloth covering him. His hands and small purple and white angel's wings are tied behind his back. His facial expression show discomfort at being put into such a helpless position. His hair is wavy and detailed. They don't make porcelain figures and figurines ... morelike this any more! Very good condition- no cracks. One of the cherub's hand shows signs of previous repair. The top of one of his feet is chipped as is common for these 19th century Meissen antiques. A beautiful pair of Authentic Antique Meissen porcelain figurines. The figurines depict a handsome young couple dressed in thier best attire. They are both signed on the base and have impressed numbers. They measures 8.5" tall. The woman figurine is in good condition for her age. There is a small piece of her yellow hat bow missing, and a shallow flake in the bottom edge of her dress. The man figurine needs restoration on his arm and one side of his vest, along with a few fingers on his bad arm. He is also missing a small part of his hat ribbon. Antique 19th Century Porcelain Bust Kinderbust(Meissen style) This is a 19th century kinderbust. Purchased for $850 in 1998 from a reputable dealer in Southern California. Her receipt from that purchase has her labeled as"Saxony/Prussia's Daughter" She is from the same estate as the Meissen plates and figurines that we have listed also. She is absolutely lovely. With delicate skin coloring from her forehead to bodice, flushed cheeks, tiny painted hair peeking out the back of her bonnet and brown eyes. She is wearing a very detailed print gown with a turquoise sash across it. And the flowers on her chest are in excellent condition, we can find no chips on them. Her bonnet and gown. As well as the base are painted with gold. The red bow at her neck is articulated. With all four pieces coming up off of the main body of the statue. ... moreThe plume on her bonnet has broken off. But as you can see it is a clean break and the plume fits back on perfectly. See close-ups please. The interior of the plume has thick copper pieces in it. The base of the statue is slightly rough with a hole in the center. It looks as though this was originally glued( onto a larger base. For an item that is from at least the 1800's. She is in great shape. She measures 6.75" tall. Widest point is 4.5" across. Base measures 2.25" across. She weighs 1 lb. 5 oz. before any packaging. Makers mark on back in blue under glaze crossed swords with an E above the ... moreswords and a C below, founded by M. Clement in 1786 and this mark was used until 1886 after an official complaint was filed by Meissen, and they were forbidden to make any further use of this mark. This piece is beautiful. A quality made item, very detailed and colorfully painted. Seated couple on a love seat playing their musical instruments and there is a small dog seated between them. Gold accented trim on the love seat and base and edging of their clothing. Please see photos for greater details. There is some damage to this piece. The gentlemen is missing his index finger and the end of the flute which have broken off, there is some of the lace missing off along the bottom of the woman's dress, and on the edge of her sleeve, No other breaks. Antique Meissen porcelain figure group - Leda and the Swan with Cupid
This stunning Meissen figural group is displayed in elite museums and collections around the world and sold by the most prestigious auction houses. Circa 1890 and approx 6 1/2" tall. Three mythological figures are featured- Leda, her Swan lover(Zeus in animal form) and Cupid, encouraging their union. The execution, color and detail of the piece is exquisite, the best of any example available on Google images, but unfortunately this example has suffered minor damage, which I have tried to illustrate in the photos above, consisting of chipping of Leda's left big toe(and a little more chipping damage to the adjoining toes on their underside) and miscellaneous minor broken and missing leaves(and one small branch) on the tree at right. Accordingly, I have priced the piece far below what other examples- including those with their own minor ... moredamage- have recently sold for. The underside of the base features the incised number 433. A pressed number 65, the Meissen crossed swords, and an inked 36. The gilding around the base is in excellent condition, as is every other detail of the item, with her hair being especially breathtaking. The item is for sale elsewhere. I did my research and apparently. Dealers are confused too! I've seen it listed under three different manufacturers. Ebay won't allow me to list the three different possibilities, but I do strongly believe it to be Meissen because of the blue crossed swords. Please look closely at the photographs and decide for yourself. I certainly welcome expert opinions too! No matter the manufacturer, everyone titles it"The Five Senses" So that aside, this porcelain figurine is in great shape for it's age. There are five putti figures, each one symbolizing one of the five senses. The top is a putti is holding a glass of wine(taste) Below are four more puttis; ... moreone is holding a bee or wasp(touch) one is holding a mirror(sight) one is holding a conch shell(sound) and one is holding a rose(smell) Definitely made by a top notch manufacturer. One tell is that each finger and toe is individually sculpted and painted. Detail only reserved for the high end market. Surprisingly, all fingers and toes are intact, no breaks, chips or repairs. The only flaw I can find is on the very top of the putti holding the wine goblet is a small chip off a leaf. It's not terribly noticeable and I've taken a photo of it(see image#8) It measured 10 1/4 inches high by 6 to 8 inches wide(6 inches for the base but some of the putti's arms or legs stick out) On the underside you can see the blue crossed swords. We offer a fabulous figurine of a young woman who is wearing a pale blue hat, an apronn a pink bodice, and decorated skirt and is holding a rose in her hands while having bare feet. Absolutely stunning and beautifully modeled. This figurine dates from the first quarter of the 19th century. A stunner! Underneath the base there is the crossed sword mark of Meissen. Being Offered For Auction A VERY RARE ANTIQUE MEISSEN PUG DOG FIGURINE This Fine Beautiful Porcelain Dog has been made beautifully and with an accurate and loving eye for details. the face.The bells and collar, the teats. everything that is so characteristic of this type of dog, even its posture with the ears pointing back-wards on its head and the curled tail folded behind its body. It's truly an exquisite piece produced by Meissen in the Late 1700's. We have for your consideration a vintage antique porcelain bisque figurine vase featuring two victorian children kissing. This estate piece is hallmarked with the crossed arrows and numbers that were used in Arnart German and Meissen porcelains and bisques. I am not an expert in this area so please ask any questions before bidding. The piece is executed with nice detail and is in good condition with the exception of a broken finger on one hand that someone has attempted a repair on. Therefore this piece will be sold As Is.
