SIZE/MEASUREMENTS: Height: 145 millimeters(5 3/4 inches) Breadth: 79 millimeters(3 1/8 inches) Thickness: 80 millimeters(3 1/4 inches) CONDITION: Very good. No repairs but the majority of glaze is gone. A little wear and a few blemishes consistent with any decorative item which was buried for over one thousand years. A very thick alkaline soil deposition layer. Not flawless, but certainly in a better than average state of preservation– and unrepaired! Stands on its own. DETAIL: A nicely preserved clay statuette so wonderfully characteristic of Tang Dynasty statuary. Sancai. This particular style was produced using a black glaze, high in iron oxides. In the kiln the iron would oftentimes come to the surface of the glaze, creating brown/rust-colored“oil spots” or streaky“hare’s fur” patterns on the otherwise black glaze. The style became extremely popular in ancient China, especially with Japanese Monks to whom the Chinese exported this unique and rare product. Tea bowls were the most common produce of this technique. This particular bowl is a variation of this style, where rather than a large number of spots or drips, instead larger areas of high iron glaze were used to produce these large rust-colored streaks in the otherwise black-predominated glaze. This Northern European white porcelain bisque figure of a woman is probably German and has a distinct mark on its bottom that we are unable to identify. Dimensions: The figure stands approximately 6& 1/4" tall. 2& 1/2" deep and 3& 1/2" across Condition: some of the petals on the flowers in the basket and at the feet of the lady have been chipped but such losses are not easy to see unless examined closely.

This is an amazingly RARE old vintage example of a hand painted high quality flocked porcelain Monkey figurine from the latter half of the 1800's. Unmarked but I am sure it is European. To my knowledge Japan did not do this sort of technique this early. The brown flocking gives the porcelain a sort of textured feel& it still remains mostly intact which is very unusual. As the flocking from the 1800's pieces(when found) are usually completely worn off. The brown is worn thin in some areas with some white showing through but for a piece of this age& rarity it still looks good& is quite acceptable. The base has some old glue residue but the piece still sits ... morefirmly upright. Here is a beautifully made European transparent porcelain vase with a boy leaning against a sea shell with pine cones across the front. It is of pastel colors. It is highly glazed. I don't know the maker although there is an anchor inscribed in the bottom very hard to see. Along with the numbers 8120, and in red 122. Thanks to a knowledgeable fellow ebayer, this is German and could be by Carl Schneider or his heirs. Many thanks to this kind person for helping me out. It is approximately 6 1/2" tall and 5" wide. There are a couple small repairs, one is to the finger and the other is to a leaf( see photos) This has flowers that reminds me of the capodimonte, the makers mark on the bottom is a crossed arrow similar to Kalk although the limited number of 33/200, I am not sure about. This came from a shop in Chambersburg PA, it was owned and operated by Norman and L.Louise Barnes Hollar. They were upstanding members of the Chambersburg Community. He Passed in 1994 and she passed in 2008 at age 91. I am not sure how long this shop operated I assume from the 1940's- maybe the 70's. Antique 9.5" Ceramic Porcelain Figurine Renaissance Era European KING/MONARCH Up for sale is a really terrific piece I found at an estate auction. A ceramic porcelain figurine/ statue of a Renaissance era figure in Venetian Breeches. With his ornate clothing, fur fringed cape and gold medallion I believe he is an European King or Monarch. His mustache and chin patch facial hair are so distinctive I thought I'd be able to identify him, but I'm still not certain who he is-anyone know? He's seated on a bench and is under a tent. His right hand is raised like he is administering or taking an oath. It's very interesting and unique. It's 9.5" at its tallest and 8" at it's widest and 3" at its thickest. The trim of his robe is texture to simulate fur. His left lower shin and ankle has lost its glaze. It ... moremay be a repair or just the glaze has flaked. There looks like a repair line at the ankle. The bottom of the piece has some nicks on the bottom edge that are not visible when the piece is sitting normally. There is some crackling on the bottom and a crafted hole there. It is marked with a cobalt blue"X" I'm uncertain of its age but believe it to be many decades old-if not older. Just wish I could figure out who this guy is! It's a wonderful piece. Please note that my shipping time is up to 5 business days as I have multiple jobs and can only ship one day a week.
