Wonderful Older English4 Drawer Bow Front Mahogany Lingerie Chest Bedside Chest
This auction is for an older four(4) drawer Lingerie type Bow Front chest or bedside chest from England. I see so many of this style coming over from England and a vast amout of them are not even 50 years old at best. Most have particle board/fiber board sides and top and although they may look nice. They are cheaply made and pasted off as older chest. This one IS NOT one of those kind. This one has a solid board top with a Flame Mahogany veneer over it and it's not the thin vacuum sealed veneer either. The sides and frame are all solid mahogany. The drawers have the older wide cut dove-tailed joints front& back with flame mahogany used on the drawer fronts. It's very well made and rock solid. It stands on four cute Queen Anne legs. It's been around for quite a while and has years& years of good service still in it. It ... morewould make a wonderful bedside piece as well as a stand alone piece against any wall. The top is 19 1/2" wide. 15 1/2" deep and it's 26" tall. All of the drawers are 17 1/2" wide X 15 1/2" Starting at the top and coming down, the drawers are 3" 3 3/8" 3 3/4" and 4 1/2" deep. Please keep in mind that this is an older chest and not a reproduction. It has some dings and scratches and blemishes to the finish. The flame mahogany finish on the top has crazing to the finish but I have throughly cleaned it and have applied Kramers Antique Restorer to it 5 seperate times. So the crazing has been put in to check. There are No water rings, No burns, No worm damage to this chest. It's in overall good condition and ready to set out and use and enjoy. Wonderful Older English Bow Front Sewing Stand Caddie Work Box Bedside Cabinet
This auction is for a wonderful older Victorian Sewing Stand Sewing Caddie or sometimes called a Work Box from England. This is one pretty cabinet. It has a pretty flamed mahogany top with string inlay bordering the outside edge. The nice and unusual thing about this caddie is that it's"finished" on all four sides. Normally the back is just a panel but this one has pretty mahogany on all four sides. It also has very pretty slender cabriolet legs with super cute"paw feet" The storage drawer has six(6) divided compartments and all of the drawer. The sides, the bottom and the dividers are made out of solid mahogany and not a cheaper secondary wood like most. The drawer has the older"wide cut dovetail joints" used in it. It's one of the nicer and prettiest sewing stands I have ever came across and would be ... morea wonderful addition and attention grabber in any room. It's been around for quite a while and has years& years of good service still in it. The top is 18 1/8" wide. 14 3/4" deep and it's 24 1/4" tall overall. The Body of the cabinet is 16 3/4" wide and 13 1/2" the storage area is about 5" deep. the drawer is 14 3/4" X 12" and about 1 7/8" deep. Please keep in mind that this is an older cabinet and not a reproduction. It has some dings and scratches and blemishes to the finish. The flame mahogany finish on the top had crazing to the finish but I have throughly cleaned it and have hand rubbed tung oil to it 6 seperate times. So the crazing has been put in to check. There are No water rings, No burns, No worm damage to this cabinet. The inside material on the storage area is not pristine. There are signs of wear, thinness to the matrial and some small holes in the material, see pictures below. It's in overall good condition and ready to set out and use and enjoy. This auction is for a neat vintage three(3) drawer"bow front" chest from England These small chest not only make a great stand alone chest. They make a wonderful bedside chest. They also make great TV stands for the newer flat panel TV's. Iy's on overall good condition. It's made out of mahogany& mahogany veneers. It has pretty hardware on the drawers and sweet"Queen Anne" legs front& back. It's s tructurally sound and should last for at least another hundred years or so. It does not have any worm damage. Water rings or burn marks. This chest is not new or a reproductions. It been around quite a while. The beveled top is 18" X 15" and it's 26" tall overall. At the outside of it's Queen Anne legs. It's 19 1'2" wide and about 14 1/2" deep. All of the drawers ... moreare 16 1/8" X 12 1/4" The top drawer is 4 1/4" deep. the middle and bottom drawers are both5 1/8" deep. It stands about 6" off the floor. A WORD ABOUT THE CONDITION. The overall condition of this chest is good. All of our items have all been around for quite a while. We do not sell reproductions. This chest is Not Perfect, but is structurely sound and is a wonderful chest with super character, great eye appeal and will last another lifetime or two with normal use and care. THESE END TABLES ARE IN AMAZINGLY GOOD CONDITION. THE WOOD FRAMES HAVE NO CRACKS OR CHIPS AND NO MAJOR SCRATCHES OR KNICKS. THE DOUBLE DRAWERS ARE VERY CLEAN INSIDE. THE WHEELS ROLL GOOD AND HAVE A GREAT ANTIQUE BRASS LOOK. THEY MEASURE 27" X 19" X 22" EACH DRAWER IS 14" X 15" X 2.5" DEEP. THE ONLY MAJOR DEFECT IS ON THE TOP OF ONE OF THE TABLESS WHERE THERE ARE TWO WHITE MARKS ON THE LEATHER.
