LOT# 337 Detailed Photos. Click to enlarge. Estate Road Show. Item Description. We are pleased to offer this stunning Henkel Harris Mt. Vernon Table in solid Wild Black Cherry. Model 2211 circa 1969. Comes with 3 leaves that extend the table to over 100" inches. Measures 64.5" inches as shown in the pictures without the leaves. In good condition with some age related wear, a fantastic family table. In May of 1946 Carroll and Mary Henkel along with a close friend, John Harris, started a business building furniture in the basement of the Henkel home on Amherst St in Winchester, VA. The first piece was a corner cabinet, it was too big to come out of the basement in one piece, so they cut it in half, brought it out and glued it back together. It was taken to Washington D.C. and sold quickly. Soon, they moved their operations to a small ... morewarehouse next to the Henkel home. In the early 50s they moved to 660 North Loudoun Street in Winchester and their reputation for quality furniture spread rapidly. In 1954, John Harris sold his interest in the company to the Henkels. Henkel Harris employed 22 craftsmen at that time and their reputation for building quality furniture continued to spread. Carroll Henkel designed and built a new state of the art manufacturing facility in 1964 that became a model for the industry. This plant is still being used today, functioning smoothly with today's technological advances. Each piece of Henkel Harris furniture is still detailed and finished by the hands of a skilled craftsman. Beautiful Leopold Stickley dining room table. Authentic Cherry Valley, made in Fayetteville NY. Hard-to-find rectangular shape, top measures 54" long x 40" wide with leaves closed. 2 leaves pull out at either end, extending the length 21" each, for a total length of 96" Tabletop is 30" high. Probably made in the 1950s, purchased used in the 1970s. Comes with a set of protective table pads which fold out to fit. Overall very solid and functional with a nice shine. Flaws include some gouging to the underside where the leaves pull out and the hardware rubs. There are some black marks and scarring on the legs, and there are some scratches on the feet.
