Vtg 1960's Coffee/Dining Table Base Drexel Plaudit Line MCM Hollywood Regency
This is a stunning Drexel Plaudit Line mahogany or light walnut table base only(top is not included) This is a rare adjustable lift base. With cable suspension lift mechanism. The base has a metal cable dampened mechanism that allows it to be gently raised and lowered and locked into place. It measures 29" on the diagonal and adjusts from approximately 19" to 30" allowing it to be used as a coffee table, dining table or game table base. The condition is good with scuffs and minimal wear around the edge and scrapes on the lift cylinder. There is a stable stress crack in the base that is vertical and not very noticeable. The top and Drexel print under the top is shown in the pictures as an example but this auction is for the base only and the top is not included. Thank you!

The dolphins are grand in scale and feature intricate detailing. Both the dolphins and the base have an original gilded finish which as aged to a beautiful patina. The dolphins are attached to the base via large bolts. The table holds a very large piece of glass(not included) and the glass is designed to rest on the upturned tail fins. This is a great looking vintage Mid Century Modern Tulip style dining table base. The base appears to be aluminum and is weighted at the bottom of the base- see photos. It does not say a maker that I can see. It is very well constructed but will want to be re-painted. It measures 28" tall x 22" wide at the bottom of the base. It measures 18 3/8" wide where base connects to the table. I have one more of these in similiar condition on auction so please see my other auction. No reserve. Good luck. Thank you. This unique sculptural base has one factory hole in each of the top stems to accommodate screwing into a wood top. Each of the"legs" have a steel floor cap. ARTHUR COURT ORIGINAL- Circa 1970 CAST ALUMINUM Lily Table Base& 4"Coordinating" Chairs This unique table base and"coordinating" chairs were found in an old. Dusty garage and were rescued before being tossed by someone who didn't realize their value. The basic structure of the cast aluminum pieces is excellent. At some point, they were re-imagined from their original metallic finish and painted an off-white color. The paint is chipping in some areas, but is consistent with age and use. The table base is missing one leaf from the base/stem, which appears to have broken off. The damage to the site is minimal. The chairs seats have been removed due to significant deterioration thus giving the buyer the opportunity to re-upholster them to suit individual taste. The maker of this X-Base and glass top dining table is unknown. The black frame is solid welded. The chrome legs attach to the frame. Faux finished from DREXEL's line of European Themes(pattern name, 1998) Style is rustic, french country(English? European garden theme(2ndlast photo shows the garden! Last photo shows RESTORATION HARDWARE's version(just under a cool $2k and NOT the quality of this table, especially the wrought iron detail) Top is a faux painted diamond pattern. Factory finished. The base is normal dining room table height measuring 28 inches from top to bottom and approximately 24 inches across. The sturdy construction of cast iron supports a very heavy table top. Thick marble is no problem nor are larger restaurant rounds or rectangles. On each top leg there is a hole for inserting a screw to affix to any type of table top so you're not limited to just glass.
