Up for sale today we have a vintage wooden letter holder sign with the letters"A" and"P" This sign might have been made for a service/gas station or possibly an automotive garage/repair shop. Not 100% sure where this sign came from. It is in good condition overall, but the piece of wood that sticks out in front of the sign is damaged and warped, needs to either be removed or replaced. A great find for any collector of vintage signs/wood collectibles! Measurements: Letter holder: 21" wide x 4-1/2" long x 5" tall. Letters: 12" tall. Vintage/Antique OLD Wood NO SHOOTING Sign- Black Hand-painted lettering on a SOLID WOOD plank with beveled edges. Measures 20 inches wide by 9 1/2" tall and it is about 3/4 of an inch thick. It says: POSITIVELY NO SHOOTING OR TRESPASSING ON THESE PREMISES" The wood plank appears to be a single 3/4" thick solid piece of wood(not made from edge-glued pieces. And not plywood) and it its very slightly cupped. It has worn whitewash background, with crisp but worn black lettering- looks to me like painted letters and not decals. The back is dirty and stained, looks like it was nailed to a tree for a many years. It has many scratches, worn spots, nail holes and a few gouges- looks like genuine"Patina" CAUTION: I have not tested the paint- you should assume it has toxic/lead paint until tested otherwise. It reads: TEMOIN SANS ENGRAIS" Which is- Sample Without Fertiliser- It would have been used on a farm to show the crop growth without any fertiliser. Presumably there would have been other signs showing the crop with the use of fertilisers. Interesting bit of French fun for an organic garden.or small holding. I've tried to track down the provenance of this vintage street sign to no avail It was owned by a family that included A Greek man who served in WWII somewhere in Europe. And a Polish woman who emigrated to the states during the war. the sign has a wooden core with a metal coating. Along with the metal"arms" it's chipped in places and overall quite beat up(adding to the charm. In my opinion) sign measures 18" x 2.25"

hugely heavy sign from a old garage in france it measures 81 x 73 cms and has a 1cm flange all round. The enamel has flaked or been damged a little around the edges possibly from removal theres some heavey scratching in one corner and some under enamel lines on the other side although you can feel them they dont really detract, overall its a stunning sign it weighs nearly 10kgs packed! i think the logo has changed over the years and this is not the same as the ones today hopefully someone will give me an exact date which i will post the mounting clips look to still be intact ones all bent up but im sure it would straighten.
