Lovely vintage original enamel sign. Rowntrees Chocolates and Pastilles
I have for sale this wonderful rare. Old enamel sign advertising Rowntrees chocolates. It is in great condition for its age( 1920s/ 30s? or maybe older) with patchy small areas of the usual enamel loss.The metal is very thick. So has hardly rusted at all It has 6 fixing holes. None of which have rusted through. The enamel is a lovely bright blue but has lost a bit of its shine over the years It measures 21" x 14" and is very heavy for its relatively small size. Overall. A really lovely and highly collectable sign. A fanastic Christmas present for any collector. Starting at 0.99p. This is a great chance to grab a bargain. I do not have a Buy-it-Now price. P&H) Sign ~ 18.25" X 10.5" Industrial artisans Alonzo Pawling and Henry Harnischfeger started the manufacturing business that would evolve into P&H Mining Equipment in 1884 in Milwaukee. Wisconsin. Pawling was a castings pattern maker and Harnischfeger was a locksmith machinist with some engineering training. Both individuals served within the Whitehill Sewing Machine Company factory in Milwaukee starting in 1881. Concerned that Whitehill business operations were drifting toward failure. Pawling exited the firm to start a small gear machining and pattern making shop in 1883. Needing more gear machining expertise and capital, Pawling persuaded Harnischfeger to join his firm as an equal partner. ... moreTheir Pawling& Harnischfeger Machine and Pattern Shop officially began on December 1, 1884. Pawling and Harnischfeger initially supplied industrial machinery components and assembly service support to large manufacturing operations in Milwaukee. When an overloaded overhead bridge-type crane collapsed within the foundry operations of a nearby heavy equipment manufacturer known as the Edward P. Allis Manufacturing Company, Pawling and Harnischfeger rebuilt the crane with an improved and simplified design. Pawling& Harnischfeger soon transformed their business into an industrial cranes manufacturing and service operation. A bank panic in 1893 caused demand for cranes to plummet however. Up for auction this week is this VINTAGE. HAND-PAINTED"NO DOGS ALLOWED" WOODEN SIGN in nice, chippy condition! It measures 12" by 4" by 3/4" thick, and is painted on pine. It was liberated from the outside entrance of the dining room from a very old Long Island, New York country club. Not by me, of course! It was to remind snooty diners that their dogs were NOT welcome in the dining room, no matter HOW much they cost, or what their breeding was. I had it on my kitchen door for 17 years until my cat passed away. It's not that I was worried about my cat getting hurt, I was worried for your dog! a vintage mirrored Bathroom sign. 1950 - 1970's Beveled glass. Hotel, Hospital
a vintage mirrored bathroom sign 1950-1970's it is an original sign. Not a modern reproduction. it is made from mirrored glass with a beveled edge. the lettering is in capitals and is a bright red colour the back and edges of the sign are painted with a bronze colour. it has 2 drilled holes so that it can be hung to a door or wall. 28 cm across x 5.8 cm high x 0.5 cm deep the sign is in good vintage condition. It has a chip on each of the drilled holes from where it has previously been hung and a tiny chip to the top right hand corner. There are a couple of short scratched to the glass and some small areas of aging to the lettering and silvering of the mirror. you can tell it has some age but it is not shabby.
