The front is solid copper with the back some kind of steel or metal that does show some rust. I did some research with not much luck on the history. Exceptional french enameled sign dating to the 1940s signed Hansi. The sign says"potassium of the Alsace region in large quantity and of good quality. The barometer glass is missing and neither of the instruments is in working condition. There is some rust staining at the corners and just below the instruments but the Art Deco image by Henri and the overall color of the blue enamel finish is very good.
