Vtg Antique 1890s 1900s Victorian Era 2" Gold Glass Sign Letter S. Antique Victorian Era 2" glass sign letter S in translucent gold. The translucent gold glass treatment resembles mercury glass in character. The letter dates from 1890's to 1900's. And was designed to use on signs and reader boards. Gold letters look exceptionally rich on a dark background and were used on higher quality signs. Front surface of the letter is smooth. So it really comes alive with reflected light. Back edge of letter has been ground to allow it to lay flat, and a brushed-on coating of a duller. Opaque gold paint ws applied as backing. This hanging sign and figural Colonial Night Watchman is made of a non-magnetic white pot metal or aluminum and is painted black. The end of the long piece of metal that the watchman and the sign is attached to has some chipping at the very tip- please check out the pictures. This sign extends out to about 19” from the mounting bracket to the ... moreend of the long post the Night Watchman is standing on. The Heritage Village cut out sign is 16 ½” x 4” and is attached at two places with screws at the top on either end. Nice vintage industrial heavy Lighted Exit sign White with red letters thick glass. It has an aluminum body with 2 thick glass panels red letters and a white metal panel back drop. It is manufactured by MC Philben MFG Co in Brooklyn NY. It will have scratches and normal wear along with some paint splatter. The thick glass panels are in good undamaged condition. The wire and sockets look good but they are untested and may or may not work. The fixture takes two bulbs. The bulbs currently in it need and adaptor as shown in the pictures to work. Back is ribbed and has a vibrant cobolt blue glow when viewed with light shining through from behind.Panels are 36 inches by 18 inches by 1/2 inch thick. There is some chipping along the edge(see pics)these can be easily trimmed out or hidden in frame. Some light scratches as expected with age and purpose. What is there to say. A truly fabulous antique French Art Nouveau enamel garden sign'Les Roseraies' The rose garden. The most wonderful plaque for anyone with a rose garden. Circa 1900 Hand enamelled by G Mouret- Graveur Agen. This is marked at the base. Good thick enamel which I've tried to show in the various photo's. It's also slightly domed. It measures approx: 12 x 8 inches- 30 x 20 cms. There is a hole at each corner for attaching to a wall. It weighs unpacked just under a kilo. White enamel with raised lettering. The art nouveau scrolls and flowers are also raised. There is a chip at the top and another at the base. Very light nibbles and weathering around the sides. Light scuffs and marks. As you can see from the various photo's this is still very glossy. Simply fabulous The only thing not to like is the price. ... morebut it was expensive to buy and I just had to have it.
