Outstanding vintage mid-century modern two-tiered end table made in the 1960's by Lane Furniture. This side or end table(no. 997-07) was made as part of the"Rhythm" collection. It is made from solid walnut. But has a lighter coloration, closer to teak. Clean, sleek modern lines were likely inspired by the Danish Modern movement. The underside of the table is stamped with serial numbers and the Lane mark. Overall, this table is in very good condition. We are pleased to offer this beautiful. Rare design, Mid Century side table or nightstand. The table was manufactured by the Lane Furniture Company and dates(according to the serial number) to 1969. The table features French styling with a clover leaf top and raised, three section fleur de lis pattern. The table has curved, triangular stepped base. The three table legs are substantially thick and scrolled. The scrolled design is raised on the outer borders for interest. The lavishly designed table top is a very heavy composite, faux stone. It has a rough, stone texture with the fleur de lis patterns smoothed and slightly raised from the roughly textured sections. The table top border is also smooth and somewhat raised. The clover leaf design is repeated on the inner corners of the border. The pattern is in a brown, polished stone design with ... morebeautiful, subtle gold flecks. The table is painted in white, slightly distressed, with gold glazing on the legs and upper base borders. The gold glaze has been white washed in areas giving depth to the finish. This is a beautiful table. It is in very good condition with only minor signs of age/use. There are a few, very light surface scratches on the top which have been highlighted with the white washed finish. The white has been allowed to rest in these tiny areas which adds to the aged character of the slightly distressed finish. The table is very elegant and has a low profile. IT IS EXTREMELY HEAVY. The table's inlaid, two-tone top provides an intesting contrast of wood grains and tones(the table is primarily walnut(top veneer) with inlays(the long, horizontal stripes and small bowties are inlays- they look to be dark oak) Oak legs and stretchers provide ample structural support. Lane Style No. 0921-05; Serial No. 953160(I think this represents it's manufacture date: 06/13/59) Condition: One mention-worthy flaw(photos-there are several of the same flaw) a corner gash. But. Here's a 3pc SET of Lane Altavista(similar to Acclaim) Mid Century Modern Dovetail Wood Living Room Furniture 2 End& 1 Coffee Tables. These are vintage pieces and they have light surface wear and minor imperfections in the finish you would anticipate from years of use. I wiped them down with a dry cloth before the pic but I think Liquid Gold or similar prodct would help their appearence immensely. I should also mention the coffee table has a slight 5/8' sag in the middle from a heavy object setting on it for years. May be an easy fix if you know what you're doing. Mid Century Danish Modern LANE Geometric Inset Tiles 70" Cocktail Coffee Table
I have up for sale a wonderful vintage circa 1959 LANE Altavista.VA 70" long surf board style cocktail/ coffee table, with inset geometric tiles. I am not sure if this is from the acclaim series but the style no. is 0165 and the serial no. 955018- which dates the manufacture date to August 15, 1959. THIS IS THE LAST TIME THAT THIS TABLE WILL BE OFFERED- it is the only one with the inset tiles of this sort that I have seen on ebay in several years. So if you like it buy it. Its that simple. This style is probably the most desirable of any of the Lane Coffee Tables and is one of the longest as well-hence the only shipping option of Freight. Most Lane Coffee tables are approx 55" long- this one is 70" Not to mention the fantastic inset tile design which is rarely seen. This is a great looking table.Long and stylish. It measures ... moreapprox 70" long, 18" across, and 15" tall and weighs approx 39 lbs as you see it. The tiles are in superb condition- no damages of any kind. The wood has some light wear. Light scuffs and some wear to the finish. The legs look like they may unscrew but I tried to turn them off and they do not budge, so I am going to leave it just as you see it. There are a couple of small chips to the veneer- the largest can be noticed in my last couple pics. The finish is original and still in good shape. Some normal light wear. One legs has a fairly minor scuff. If you look close along the horizontal edge pieces and the main body of the table, there is a grooved area- in a few spots along this line are some brown colored marks. I believe that this is something from manufacture. The table is very sturdy- has some minor imperfections but considering its age- its in real nice shape.
