Vintage 1950's Oak Table with Leaf. Steel Legs(Possibly Originally Chrome) Mid-Century Modern Style Perfect Retro Dining or Kitchen Table Expandable with Built-in Leaf This table was made by the Williamsburg Chair Factory in Williamsburg OH. USA, just outside of Cincinnati, OH. Judging from the style, this original table could have been made anywhere from the late 1940's to the early 1960's. The remnants of the original label(see picture) indicate it came from the factory with an O'Neil Duro(of Milwaukee, WI) finish. Some additional info on the Williamsburg Chair Factory- According to a furniture appraisal website I found. Mr. Ray White posted this comment: My family made these chairs[referred to in the original posting] The factory started in 1898 but closed in the 1960's. There is also what I believe to be a model number(1000) written twice. Today. I would say most of that original O'Neil Duro finish on the top is worn off. In fact, this table would look perfect with a mild refinishing- pictures show the table as-is.not polished and not even cleaned! The top surface shows a couple of what appears to be cigarette burns, a couple stains, and 2 spots with traces of'Great Stuff' insulation, which should easily scrape/sand off. The table has always been kept in the kitchen or garage since my family owned it. I believe the wood to be Oak. But I am not a wood or furniture expert. The lip of the table is a fluted wood that has been painted a cream color in the last 20 years. Steel loop legs have also been painted the same color. I have no idea what the original color or finish of the legs and table top edge was supposed to be. But I would suspect the legs were originally chrome. I appreciate any comments tha

While on our hunts for wonderful antique furniture in England sometimes we find great pieces of yew wood furniture like this single pedestal dining table. I love yew wood which has a mellow color and wispy grain that is often speckled with tiny ... moreknots or“birds eyes” Yew is a wood native to England and was the wood originally used to make the English long bow back in the Medieval era. It is also used to make beautiful musical instruments. We have dated this table to about 1960 and of English origin. The maker complemented the yew wood top by adding a mahogany cross banded border. This border helps define the round shape of the single pedestal dining table. The pedestal is a turned pedestal with four splay legs that end in brass claw foot casters. We have rated the condition of this round table as good. It is sturdy and strong and ready for everyday use. The only flaw is a small repaired section of the banding which we have included a close up photo of. This is all that prevents the piece from being considered excellent condition. The repair was well done and is not glaringly obvious. Overall this is a great table that will serve your home or office for many years to come! This is a signed. Authentic hans Wegner slide top table. Designed for Andreas tuck, it's a space saving, kitchenette" designed by the mid century master designer himself! Quite a rare piece, I've only ever seen 1 other like it. The table top is absolutely gorgeous! It's SOLID teak. Not a teak veneer, and it slides open to reveal a hidden storage compartment below. When fully opened, it measures 45" x 33.75" When closed, it measures 33.75 x 22.5" it stands 29" tall when closed, and 28.5" tall when fully expanded. What really makes this piece special however. Is the condition! It's in near mint condition! Other than some moisture discoloration inside the bottom of the hidden storage, it's virtually new. I'd say condition wise, it's a 9.5 out of 10. The green caps on the legs are plastic and some are damaged(see pictures) most of the damage is on the inside of the leg so it really can't be seen unless you are looking under the table. I do think that the legs are easily removed so the caps can be changed if you like. The table comes with 2 excellent condition matching leaves. VTG 60's Niels Møller Teak Dining Kitchen Table AM 20 Denmark Danish Mid Century
Vintage 1960’s Niels Møller Teak Dining Room Kitchen Table Measurements: 49" Long Table Top Length without the extending sides 88" Long Table Top Length with both extending sides pulled out fully 29" Table Height 33 1/2" Width. Material: Teak with some other wood fittings maybe added after. Condition there is average wear in the form of some scratches. A heat mark from a pot, one leg is loose and you can see a 1/8" or less gap where they come together. The biggest thing in regards to condition is adjustments that I think were made over the years, the brackets that secure the top to the legs needs to be replaced so the extending edges slide out easily, and the table is completely secure. The table had some of the mechanical pieces replaced by the original owners mainly the brackets that were mentioned and maybe ... morean added wood piece under the table, but I am not 100% sure, the wood underneath might be all original. The main issue with the adjustments if there were any made, is the lack of ease the extensions come out like mentioned. Marked on the Bottom Made In Denmark AM 20. This item is available for pick up.
