Saarinen Knoll Tulip Table Coffee Cocktail Mid Century Modern Vintage Eero Low
Authentic Eero Saarinen for Knoll Tulip Coffee/Cocktail table. 3ft in diameter, 15" tall. Purchased at a high end estate with the Safari chair I have listed and a Ed Wormely dining set for Dunbar and Le Corbusier LC1 Pony Hide Sling chair that I still have yet to list. This was bought overseas, and like most items from Europe, it is not signed: no label. But, it is Knoll; the weight and concrete like fill in, in the bottom, are signs of authenticity. It weighs over 36 Lbs. It has, as you can see, yellowing from the years, on the upper part of the stem, as well as yellowing underneath, along with slight cracking/crazing on the surface and fingerprints, shown in pics 7& 8. The base is 16 3/4" in diameter. This will ship freight or Greyhound Express. The cost for freight will probably be cheaper and safer than having it packed ... moreprofessionally and shipped GE. I have used shippers such as Plycon and TSC and 7 day shipment auction to get the best cost for my buyers. Feel free to ask me for an approximate shipping quote. Measures 28 1/2" in diameter and about 16" high. Has the original Herman Miller sticker on the bottom. Good vintage condition. Does have some damage to the bottom portion of the table's edge(see pics below) The black laminate top is still in good shape despite the dings on the edge. You really have to look closely at the perfect angle to see the damage to the underside edge. The laminate does have some light scratches which is to be expected of a piece of this age. Overall. Designed by Edvard Kindt-Larsen for the France& Sons company. This dates to the late 50s or early 60s. It came from a smoke and pet free home. The table measures approx 47.5 long x 20 wide x 18 inches Tall This table features all teak construction. But the top is likely not solid teak, it has teak edge lips on both ends. The tapered legs and horizontal support beams are likely solid teak. This table retains its original circular France& Sons mark on underside of top. Along with stamped Danish mark. Condition: I rate the condition 8 or 9 on a 1-10 scale. But its vintage. And my vintage eyes think its just fine. Upon first looking at this table. You think ... moreits brand new, I only dusted it off before the pictures. I sat it in my living room for a week. And after seeing it every day, started to see some of the very light scratches in the top surface. They are not apparent right away. This is a beautiful CLOISONNE top coffee table. It is a vintage item and came from an estate. The table is in very good condition. The wood base and legs are of a red/brown wood with nice grain and heavy. The top is black and has hand painted gold decoration. It is inlaid with 3 13" genuine cloisonne panels. The 2 on the ends are the same design. But done in reverse of each other, The center one is different. The table is 48" long x 18" deep. and about 6" high. There is some minor paint wear to the gold decoration, mostly at the corners, so please see the photos. This is all hand painted so could easily be touch up if you so desire.
