Antique German Porcelain Woman Cherub Putti Cupid Dresden Flowers Group Figurine
~ Antique German Figurine ~ This is a very lovely handpainted German porcelain figure with fine modeling. Superb coloring, and exquisite porcelain applied flowers. A beautiful maiden sits atop two decorative tasseled pillows, and she is helping Cupid as he is struggling to climb up next to her. Cupid's bow and arrows are on the ground at their feet, and the woman holds one golden arrow in her hand. The figure is a nice large size measuring 8 1/2" tall by 7" wide. And it is in excellent condition aside from arrow has tip chip and a few tiny nicks to flower petals/leaves, very minor. You are viewing an antique porcelain piece. Either a candlestick or possibly the base of an oil lamp which holds the font. The top is open(there is tissue stuffed inside) but it obviously had something there at one time or another. I have used a glass candle insert in the past in this area. The piece, I am told, is marked with a Meissen mark(see photos) The numbers"17-316" also appear on the bottom of the piece. It is a heavy, well-made piece, and measures about 11" tall. The modeling of the piece is exquisite. I note a small chip on the rose at top on the front of the piece(by angel's head) and a missing rose or leaf on the back side bottom area. It is, as many know, hard to note all small flaking on porcelain roses, etc. However, any loss to the applied roses and leaves on this one is fairly minor in my opinion. Featured for Auction we have an Antique/ Vintage bisque figurine of a cherub on the side of a dragon headed sleigh. Wonderful coloring. Probably hand painted in pastel colors, with raised enamel. At least we believe this is bisque it may be porcelain. The little cherub is just adorable with his wavy hair, blue eyes, pink wings, and his arrow on his side. It measures about 8 1/2" long by 5" wide and 6" tall. We believe it is German in Origin, but are not certain as there are No Markings. It is in wonderful condition, with minor chipping on the flowers. Also we don't know if the dragons nose is supposed to blunt as it is or if it was pointy originally and broken off and repainted, as it is hard to tell. If you look at the fifth picture, that yellowish spot looks to be a something goopy and mostly came off, you could probably ... moreclean it up even better, its not bad, but wanted to mention it. Rare smaller Meissen Porcelain Figure.M 104 91"Love Bound" A LOVELY MEISSEN CUPID PUTTO TIED UP. This"Love Bound" German figurine depicting the god Cupid dates from the 19TH CENTURY. Cupid is the god of desire. Erotic love, attraction, and affection. As you can see by viewing the pictures. Our poor little putto sits on a on circular grassy pedestal. The perimeter of Cupid's pedestal is painted in beautiful hues of blues and pinks and accented with gold draping and a sea shell design. This little angel and mighty cherub is sans clothing with only a pink/mauve cloth covering him. His hands and small purple and white angel's wings are tied behind his back. His facial expression show discomfort at being put into such a helpless position. His hair is wavy and detailed. They don't make porcelain figures and figurines ... morelike this any more! Very good condition- no cracks. One of the cherub's hand shows signs of previous repair. The top of one of his feet is chipped as is common for these 19th century Meissen antiques. Underneath are the clear marks used between 1875 and 1900- The Meissen crossed swords in underglaze blue. First quality. Incised M 104 and small 91 impressed in the base. On top are two winged Putti holding a floral garland of the most exquisite flowers. On the top are the makers Swords Marks as seen in the pictures. This mirror measures 13” tall 10 1/4” wide. Condition: good for its age- it does have a few chips to the garland flowers but not bad and the wings on the cherubs have been repaired on top and one of the top cherubs has a missing wing but only can be seen from the back side. Up for auction is a a pair of Vintage Lenwile Ardalt ANGEL CHERUB SCONCES#6962B- Hand Painted and made in Japan.circa 1945. The sconces measure 8 1/2" long by 8" wide by 4" deep. There are two angels on the off white tinged pale green sconces. The sconces are decorated with pink and purple flowers with gold trim. The angel wings are highlight with gold as are the sconces. Pair of 18 th Century Fine PorcelainCherub Figurine& French Bronze Candleholders. The easily-removable porcelain figurines measure 7”high and 3” diameter at the base. The bronzecandleholders measure 15” across. 8” wide, and 8 ¼” high. They hold candles7/8” or narrower. These exquisitecherubs are in perfect condition. Except for some petals chipped on a tinyflower(approximately 1/64 th inch) magnified closeup pic shown) Thesecherubs radiate a certain quality of loveliness. Innocence and purity beyondany modern counterparts. Thebronze metal candleholders are marked on the bottom“Made in France” and thefigurines were probably attached to them sometime in the last 100 years. A beautiful antique Schierholz porcelain cherub figurine. It stands 4 1/2 inches tall and is 2 1/4 across the base. This beauty overall is in great condition considering it's age. The tip of one wing is damaged and it once was holding something in it's left hand but the top portion is gone. The tips of the fingers on the right hand and one wing of the butterfly are gone. Antique Scheibe-Alsbach A. Kister Porcelain Cherub vases mark from late 1880s
These beautiful German statuettes were made in Scheibe-Alsbach in the A. Kister period. They are from the late 1800's. They are truly beautiful and you will not tire of looking at them. They are cherubs with vases on a pedestal. I do not know if they were originally meant to be vases or planters but either use would be a beautiful display. One of the figures is holding a bunch of grapes and the other a wine glass. This is Art Nouveau at it's best. The form of the plump cherubs and the grapes and leaves. And even the shape of the vases themselves are natural and from the Nouveau period. The bottoms are stamped KPM and feature the X beneath these letters. This mark was used for a short period beginning in 1887.There are the numbers 1301 and 9 indented on the bottom as well, perhaps where they were to inventory them at one point or to ... moreidentify them in some fashion at the point of manufacture. This set is 108 to 126 years old and in mint condition. The cherubs are 10 1/4" H. 6 3/4" W, and on a 4" base excluding legs. This set will be shipped FedEx insured at the purchase price or more. The dealer who sold me this porcelain cherub holding a sheeve of wheat told me that it was Paris Porcelain. Definately porcelain. It's signed on the bottom with two crossed arrows. My mother said that this means it's serves, but I so think that Serves is with crossed swords. Whomever made this vintage/antique cherub knew how to make fine porcelain it's really a super high end item. Early Antique Meissen Figure Superb! Early 18th or early 19th century Meissen figure of Mercury with cherub and rooster! Incredible detail. With beautiful features! Hand painted in beautiful soft colors with gilt accents. The condition is very good, a few minor flaws to mention. The tip of his staff is chipped off, tip of one finger off cherub, and small flaw to tip of roosters tail. No other damage, and display is excellent! The measurement is 8 1/2" tall by 7" across! The piece is unmarked, which you sometimes find with the very early pieces, it could have rubbed off or the manufacturer just forgot to put the stamp. I the same figure I found on worth point, and it was also unmarked, with exception of incised h mark, also on the bottom of this figure. Really a wonderful find and exceptional display! A very nice antique. Circa 1890's, German Sitzendorf porcelain figural winged cherub with three egg shaped vases wrapped with applied roses and stemmed leaves. All glazed and nicely hand painted. The underside has the blue crosshatch mark of Sitzendorf. It measures 11" tall 9" wide by 7" deep. A chipped petal or leaf here or there. The vases, base, and figure, are without damages.
