This is an adorable Victorian Courting Couple boy& girl figurine made in Italy. They are seated and he is looking down at her hand. It looks like she is about to hand him a flower. Approximately 5 inches tall to top of tree branch and 6 inches wide at widest point. Stamped on the side of the base with blue Capodimonte Crown and N mark. In great condition but there could be chips to the lace on the bottom of her skirt and some of the flowers in her basket are chipped or possibly missing. I have tried to show this in my pics. It is in excellent condition for its age with the exception of what I believe is one tiny leaf missing from the right side of the flower that the woman wears in the middle of her bodice(photo 10) There is also a tiny 1/2 inch firing separation in the inside crease of the man's arm near his shoulder(photo 11) that is very difficult to see and which I only noticed after photographing the piece. Purchased at an estate sale from a house full of beautiful antiques. The exact age of the figurine is unknown, but the piece is marked with a very old Capodimonte mark of a N with a crown in blue on its base. This early 1900s 5 7/8” tall x 2 5/8” diameter(base) hand painted porcelain figuring with hand formed and applied roses on the base bears a blue underglaze mark similar to Capodimonte and is marked made in France on the bottom. Obviously an early 20th century statuette inspired by the work of Capodimonte. It is likely the work of Samson or other Paris area porcelain manufacturer. It is free of cracks, chips and repairs. There are infinitesimal color losses on the end of the blossoms. The edges are sharp/rough, so I cannot tell if these 2 or 3 tiny spots are damage or manufacturing imperfections. It’s so well done and in excellent condition. It stands about 6” tall and is about 4.5” across at the bottom. I don’t see any cracks or crazing. But there are 2 tiny white spots on the greens in the woman’s basket that I think are chips– I tried to show this in the photos. According to the book I have. We are selling an adorable and very fine older Italian Capo Di Monte Wall Bracket adorned with 2 cherubs or putti holding birds and flowers. The bracket is in the shape of a tree branch. Sculpted painted flowers are applied; the bracket itself. The structure, the tree branch is decorated richly with hand painted gold. The wall bracket form is seldom seen in Capo Di Monte type ware. The measurements can be viewed in the photographs- it is a lovely size that will fit into many spaces- not too large. But also not so small that it will not be noticed. This bracket will be noticed! It is in very good condition for it's age considering the fragile nature of the delicate flower petals. Arms, legs, hands, fingers and feet. In fact, I have been able to find only one flower petal broken off and lost. I can not find any other damage. The item is ... morebeing sold as it is. There is dust/dirt/patina on the bracket- you will be in charge of cleaning; we have not cleaned. The piece is marked with a capital"N" in a circle along with a 4 digit number. 6834- it is a reddish color mark.
