D E S C R I P T I O N: Stunning vintage finely crafted‘flaming’ mahogany revolving table. Widely known as the“drum table” during the 18 th century. It was created by English designer Thomas Sheraton. He fashioned the table after the form of a military drum. The drawer comes from the English“rent” table. A rent table was a round table with seven drawers that belonged to a landlord. Renters deposited their rent in the drawer marked for the day of the week their rent was due. Often times these tables are found with just two drawers. While the rest are dummy drawers. There are a couple of small burn marks on top shown in the pictures. With spatters of white paint, only noticeable when close up. Condition of this piece would be good. There is a chip to the wood at the base of the table where the legs attach. See picture. VINTAGE INLAID LEATHER-TOP CARD TABLE/ GAMING TABLE BY MAITLAND-SMITH#6422A This classic Card Table/Gaming Table is made out of wood. Solid wood, Inlay, and Veneer. This charming Table has a two-tone medium/dark red/brown stain finish color. This elegant Table can be used as a Card Table or as a Gaming Table. And it has built-in storage pits on the top corners, see pictures. This Table has a gorgeous leather top, and it has unusual Brass/Brass-finish caps and accent pieces on the fluted legs. This Card/Gaming Table has drawers on the sides that can be used to hold dice. Maps, character sheets, or other gaming materials, see pictures. And the Table was produced by Maitland-Smith. A fine furniture manufacturer. This wonderful Table is secure and sturdy, ready for daily use. There are some aging imperfections/scratches here and there proper ... moreto its age and as part of its wear& tear. There are some imperfections and touch-ups on the leather top and on the finish of the Table. See pictures. There are some minor aging imperfections on the base and on the sides of the Table, see pictures. The measurements are: height=30 1/8" width=35" depth=35" approx. Please remember that antique items will show some wear and imperfections they have acquired through the years.
