This is the finest Regency table of this type we have had in over 15 years of selling fine antiques. This is an incredible example of fine craftsmanship from the era. Solid mahogany tilt top is wavy from the age which is very typical. There is some minor wear in center of the top that takes away nothing. Fabulous carved acanthus leaf on pedestal terminating in extravagant paw feet in gold gilt paint. You will love this piece. Prince George(Prince of Wales) was Regent from 1811– 1820 but Regency became a convenient name for the first 30 years of the 19th Century. Regency furniture was the neoclassical antique style mixed with empire style and the later Georgian style of furniture. Elaborate and ornate. Antiques from Greece, Rome and Egypt were a source of inspiration for furniture designers, attempts were made to make actual copies of ancient furniture and there was even a vogue to copy some of the stone furniture, producing them in mahogany. The regency style of furniture carried on through the William IVs reign, but introduced a few more curves and some elegant decoration. Antique Regency furniture was plain. Slender and elegant. Brass was used for decoration, rosewood and zebrawood veneers were used for a striking look. Mahogany was still the wood of choice for most furniture makers. French polishing came into vogue around 1810 and allowed for smoother shinier finishes which suited the new elegant pieces. This is a stunning tilt-top occasional or end table. It was manufactured in Holland Michigan by the Baker Furniture Company- known for their high end furniture production. The top is oval shaped and measures about 22.75" by 17.75" When the top is flat. The table measures about 27.5" high. The top has beautiful colors with nice inlay detailing as you can see in the photos. The table has 3 bent legs which meet at a wider turned shaft. The table top tilts when it is pulled up(there is no lever to push) When the top is up/tilted, it does not seem to stay vertical- instead, the top edge tilts forward more than the bottom. The mahogany wood is a lovely, dark color and is contrasted with a satinwood band and ebony string inlay around the outside. Each of the three legs end in a wooden carved ball and claw foot. The carving is subtle and makes the table feel more elegant. Because the carved pedestal was recently French polished in England and the top is newly made from England the condition is excellent. It is strong and sturdy. The tilt mechanisms work well. The top was made by a third generation craftsman who used traditional. I scored this awesome piece at a frat estate sale in DC. I took it to have it"appraised" at a local shop and given very good news but truthfully I knew what I was looking at as you can see in the photos It has all the things to look for all flat head screws the bird cage is in great shape.The pin for holding the table in regular position is hand carved, actually the whole thing has evidence of being hand carved. When the top is folded there is a P wrote in wax/chalk at the top of the center post. The top is a solid piece of wood( I'm not talking about the detailed carved piece running around the top) There are no flaws that I can find it's in beautiful condition! Vintage Hamilton Oak Adjustable Tilt Top Drafting Table Post 1950
Vintage Hamilton Drafting Table with adjustable tilt top. Includes the parallel bar. Lamp and a stool. You don't have to take the stool if you don't want it. Its serviceable but well worn. The top is 72" wide X 43 1/2" deep. The unit is 36 1/2" to 37 1/2" tall at the front edge. These items were used in an architects office and then a contractors office. The lock on the tool drawer is missing and the paper drawer has had damage to the left slide that has been repaired, both are shown in the photos. The drawer works fine and the repair is barely noticeable when the drawer is fully open and can't be seen when closed. The leg spacers have normal foot wear and there are some misc. scratches/ dings from many years of use. This table is thought to be from late 1950's. Available for inspection.

THIS IS FOR PICK-UP ONLY. This auction is for a vintage. 50’s, wooden tilt-top folding card table. It has a picture of a hunting scene with horses, riders and dogs. The table measures 26.5” X 26.5” and is 30”H. There are some condition issues with this table but overall it’s a cool mid-century item. First. It appears that there was a repair to the wood underneath but it must have been done in the 60’s because I know it sat in storage, untouched, after that. The table is a little wobbly but has nothing to do with the repair. The picture has some paint in one corner, ink scribbles in another corner, and various marks throughout. There is also a crease in the center of the picture. Despite all this. You can clearly tell the picture is of a charming hunting scene.
