VINTAGE SILVER LEAF ITALIAN FRENCH ART DECO REGENCY ACANTHUS & TASSEL SIDE TABLE
We are pleased to offer this beautiful. Vintage, accent table. This lovely, round, accent or side table features carved details with both French and Italian Regency characteristics. The table has two circular stretchers which support the three legs. The stretchers are notched in a rope detail. The three legs are large, scrolled acanthus leaves with notched veins. The legs are substantial at the upper sections and taper/narrow toward the bottom sections. The feet are carved tassels. The table is a bronzed brown color with a subtle, crackle glaze finish. The notched and carved details are silver leaf which contrasts beautifully with the bronzed brown. The finish is original and the table has not been repainted. The finish has a great deal of depth in the color and the finish is quite beautiful. The table is nicely constructed and heavy. The ... morelegs are secured to the stretcher supports with two bolts at the upper sections and one bolt at the lower section just above the feet. The table has no manufacturer's mark or sticker. It is definitely a quality table. Because of the finish, it is difficult to discern if the table is solid wood or a composite combination. Because it is so heavy, I am assuming that the table is a combination of wood and composite. The table is in extremely nice condition. There are only VERY MINOR signs of age or use. The table is designed for a glass top and has the suction cups in place. It is pictured with a 28" round glass top. The glass is not included as it is chipped. You can purchase very nice quality, replacement glass tops at retailers such as Pier One. The table is 21" tall. The upper section is 26" in diameter and the lower section is 21" in diameter. Again. We are pleased to offer this beautiful and ornate. Vintage accent table or stand. The table features very detailed, cast iron, 3 leg design. The pattern is acanthus scrolls with a cornucopia design incorporated as well. The feet feature a"hooved" acanthus design. The column is wrought iron and is barley twist. This section is threaded and fits into the table top. The table top features a wooden base with black granite/marble mounted on the wood. The top is fixed into an iron casing. The perimeter of the top features an ornately patterned, silver leaf, iron border. The table is not marked. It is heavy and it is well made. It is in good condition with minor signs of age or use. The granite has a couple of very minor surface scratches from use or cleaning. These are not distracting. The top seems to slant slightly but is not too noticeable ... moreand can be corrected(I may not have it threaded correctly) The silver leaf is a factory finish and is thick in application. It is in good condition with a couple of very minor scuffs. It has a slightly aged over glaze which gives the table a slightly aged character. This is a beautiful table. I do not know the age, but am guessing it to date to the 1980s. The table is heavy and very sturdy. The table measures 26.75" tall. It is 18.5" in diameter at the top.
