In amazing shape considering it's most likely from the 40's(based on my research of the table- it used to have a green triangle label that has since fallen off. Beautiful mahogany wood end tables by Hekman. Grand Rapids, Michigan They are 19" wide and 27 3/4" long. The top shelf is 22 1/4" high and the lower table is 15 1/2" high Dovetailed corners in the drawers. Handles are brass. These tables have only minor signs of wear or age on some of the corners. You should be able to see some of it in the pics. There is only remnants of the Hekman label underneath. You will not be disappointed.these are very nice! Antique mahogany octogon table has 4 identifying marks and a personal label. Partial white paper label says property of Mrs EC Cattall? Gertoscole? There is also a number 2 marked on the underside wood of the table. There is a green and yellow shield shaped intact label that reads IMPERIAL Grand Rapids Mich. There is a dark sepia brown label next to that which says MADE IN GRAND RAPIDS. And there is a brass tag with 2 brass nails and spread winged eagle logo on it that reads TRUE GRAND RAPIDS CABINET MAKING CERTIFIED and that tag is engraved with serial number I-17820. The" True Grand Rapids Cabinet Making Certified" tag means that the Imperial company belonged to the organization in Michigan that certified their furniture was true Mahogany Wood. Gorgeous golden highly grained tabletop has a one half inch dark mark see pic and also one circle where someone may have set a hot drink. Just beautiful table top is framed in 8 tightly fitted panels of molding that feature a deeper line of inlaid wood all around the outside. A rectangle of wood underneath has all the identifying tags and marks as well as the 4 original screws that attach it to the table top. Center spindle flows down into 4 VERY UNUSUAL spider like legs that also feature the same beautiful matching inlaid wood all along them- inside and out much like the veining on a spider leg.Metal flat tabs under each foot.The legs are superbly and richly grained as well. One leg has a screw hole in it on the underside but no screw and there never was one. Perhaps during it's lifetime someone intended to reinforce it but I can't imagine why because it is all good tight and secure. This table measures 19 inches tall with a 23x23 inch octagonal top. Imperial Furniture Company Mahogany Nesting Tables(3) Very good original condition. Tallest Measures 20 inches wide. 13 inches deep and 23 inches tall and has a leather top, which does show some wear, scratches, and such. The medium one is 17.5 inches long 12 inches deep and 22 inches tall. The smallest one is 15 inches long 11 inches deep and 20 inches tall. There are a few surface scratches, but nothing major. Amazing gorgeous set!

Which his father, E.H. Foote, owned. There he learned about many aspects of the furniture business. In 1903, after ten years at the Grand Rapids Chair Co. he raised the money to found Imperial Furniture Co. with the help of Daniel McCoy, who was the president of Kent State Bank. McCoy was the first president of the company but Foote would soon take over and continue to be president for fifty years. Each manufacturer in the association had its own unique number. 123 was the Mahogany Association number of' Imperial" Grand Rapids, Mi. Imperial’s primary product was tables. With the addition of bookcases to its line later in its history. Foote laid claim to inventing the“coffee table” after he helped his wife prepare for a party by lowering the legs on a table. Imperial made dining room tables to go along with buffets made by the Grand Rapids Chair Co. Imperial was the first factory to bring out Duncan Phyfe reproductions. They worked mostly in mahogany but also had pieces of cherry. In the 1940’s, they made wood airplane wings for the government. Imperial was the first company to concentrate large-scale efforts on occasional furniture. In 1954. The Company sold to Bergsma Brothers Co. after Foote dies, and finally ceased operations in 1962. Michigan We purchased this beautiful table in Grand Rapids in 1979-36 years ago! It has been a favorite piece of ours for all these years. But moving to a retirement home is forcing us to downsize. The table has been well cared for over the years. But has some minimal signs of use, as visible in the photos. Overall, it is solid, sturdy and lovely and will last for generations. All furniture produced by Forslund was handcrafted by their team of wood working specialists at their manufactory in Grand Rapids. Oval marble top is 33.5" x 22.5" x 17" tall.
