1880's Portland EAPG Draped FESTOON Pastry Dessert PLATE Rum Well CAKE PEDESTAL
Here is a wonderful antique Portland Glass Company CAKE PEDESTAL. It is in a draped FESTOON pattern. It has a small RUM WELL in the center. The top measures 8 1/2" in diameter and has 1/2" beaded lip. The entire pedestal stands 6 1/2" tall. It has the typical straw marks or bubbles in the glass. I am so darn old now that I can remember my nana putting her lemon curd cake on this with homemade vanilla and lemon flavored rum. Kids were not allowed to have any. It has NO chips or damage. It is a great size for a simple holiday table to a wedding for desserts. I try at all times to represent my item fairly. And truthfully. Elegant Vintage Glass Bakery Pastry Diner Pedestal Cake Plate Stand 1800s EAPG
here is a large. Tall, old, glass pedestal cake plate/ pastry stand WITH A PINWHEEL PATTERN. Some of these were once used in bake shops or diners, and they were also used in homes on special occasions. This one has an interested pinwheel design pattern which really reflects the light nicely. It does have some embedded air bubbles which are common in late 1800s and early 1900s glassware. It also has a straw mark being pointed out in the last photo which is also common in early pattern and pressed glass from the turn of the century. Nice size measuring approx 8" inches tall, this cake stand has a top diameter which measures approx. 8 1/2" outside diameter) It is in great condition, one flake on the inside bottom, and a couple of straw marks.
