The unusual thing about this small plate is its size which is 7-3/4" diameter. Most Goofus plates are larger or much smaller. It was made by Lancaster Glass in about 1910. 7-3/4" diameter Clear pressed glass with small scalloped rim. 8 red carnations rise on stems with leaves from center.In the center is a single red carnation. Background is gold. No cracks. Chips, or fleabites. About 99% of original paint remains. Not marked on the bottom. But this pattern is attributed to Lancaster Glass. This plate measures just under 11" across and has a short pedestal making it stand about 1" tall around the saw tooth edge. Along with the red roses and gold background. Although some of the paint has worn off from the bottom, this is normal and should be expected. Goofus glass was made from about 1900 to 1920 by many American factories. It was originally painted gold, red, green, bronze, pink, purple, or other bright colors. Many pieces are found today with flaking paint, and this lowers the value. Antique Indiana Goofus Glass Double Rose Serving Plate 1900`s....10.5 inches
Absolutely gorgeous with minimal wear for its age! antique decorative Goofus Glass pressed glass with unfired paint on the underside. Known as the double rose. This plate measures just under 11" across and has a short pedestal making it stand about 3/4-1" tall around the saw tooth edge. Along with the red roses and gold background. Very minimal amount of paint has worn off from the bottom, which you can see in the picture of the bottom. This is normal and should be expected in unfired paint. Goofus glass was made from about 1900 to 1920 by many American factories. It was originally painted gold. Red, green, bronze, pink, purple, or other bright colors. Many pieces are found today with flaking paint, and this lowers the value. The paint of Goofus glass was unfired and the glass itself was the first carnival glass. INDIANA GLASS Goofus Glass"Strawberry& Vines" pattern 11" wide platter with a strawberry. Vines, and leaves design. The ground bottom piece has a curved 2" scratch on its' face and most of rim gild is missing but there are no cracks or chips and the colors are still bright and the pattern images 99% intact only showing one tiny wear spot.

Up for bids is a pretty Morning Glory small plate with Goofus treatment. It has really good paint and has no damage. Purchased in 1997 from an antique mall in Charlotte. NC. A larger plate with this design is shown on page 103 of McKinley's book on Goofus Glass. 7-3/4" diameter. Clear pressed glass with an all-over design of morning glories and leaves(could be nasturtiums) The center has one flower and 5 leaves. The flowers appear to have been tinted with a pinkish color which is very faint. The edge has squared scallops. No chips. Fleabites, roughness, or cracks. 95% original paint remains.
