Antique European Lacy Glass Cup Plate RL #852 Green
Antique European Lacy Glass Cup Plate RL#852 Green This a very nice example of a European lacey glass cup plate in an unusual shade of green No. 852. This is mentioned on page 394 of Ruth Lee's book on cup plates and shown on picture Plate No 119. The Chapter on European plates mentions that these were probably made in France or Belguim and possibly made for the American market. The diameter is 3 3/4" There are a few chipped scallops and a crack or irregularity in the glass at the edge and into the rim about 1/2" I took a close up of the problem. I am presently listing two other plates. One is EAPG opal glass and the other is clear glass. A picture at the end shows all 3 that are listed, but only the one shown and described separately are for sale with this listing. The others are all in separate listings. 1841 Flint Glass Cup Plate - BUNKER HILL BATTLE - Boston & Sandwich Glass Co.
We are pleased to offer an antique(1841) flint glass cup plate. Commemorating the Revolutionary War Bunker Hill Battle, fought on June 17, 1775. The plate is embossed with the Bunker Hill monument in the center, and" CORNERSTONE LAID BY LAFAYETTE JUNE 17. 1825/ FINISHED BY THE LADIES 1841/ BUNKER HILL BATTLE FOUGHT JUNE 17. 1775/ FROM THE FAIR TO THE BRAVE" The plate measures 3-1/2" in diameter. And is a piece of Early American Patterned Glass made by Boston and Sandwich Glass Co. The piece in in very good. As-found condition, with no cracks and minimal surface wear which includes some edge roughness. A nice piece of Early American memorabilia! The winning bidder pays shipping costs. Good luck. This auction is for an early American pattern glass cup plate made by the New England Glass Co. This plate is clear and is#44 in the Ruth Webb Lee book and is listed as very rare. Book states" This was the earliest instance of the use of naturalistic ornament in the center of the plate.
