The detail is fascianting. This is a vintage antique fine handcolored map, printed on thick, beautiful paper, with no printing on reverse. From the very rare 1941 G.M. Hopkins Atlas of Cuyahoga County Ohio. The map is overall in nice condition. I've seen many great antique county and city maps, by great names like Beers, Mueller, Bromley, Caldwell and more, Hopkins maps from this period are among the very best ever created. They used the best handcoloring, paper, typography, cartography and overall amazing detail. Its not a reproduction or copy. The map names property owners. With lot sizes in acres, and locates roads, schools, and churches. It labels the Cleveland, Elyria& Western Railway, an interurban electric railroad which was the first suburban streetcar line running into the city of Cleveland. The map is drawn on a scale of three inches to one mile. And area labeled Parma, astride a tributary of Big Creek, is today's Parma Heights. The township itself is divided into four tracts: Ely, Tukerman, Cheny, and Blake. An inset at the right shows Walter's Partition, Blake's Tract, in more detail. A second inset is labeled"West Park P.O. and shows Lot 12. Rockport Hamlet, on a scale of 400 feet to one inch. Details include the Buckeye Fish Company, the Lake Shore& Michigan Southern Railroad, and the Cleveland, Elyria& Western electric line along Lorain Avenue. Still in its original wrappers, is in such great shape that it seems like a reprint-but it's not. It's very detailed with a complete street index. The John Mohr Company printed maps of Cleveland at least three other times during the 1910s(1916, 1917 and 1919) with this edition being fairly scarce as OCLC locates only one institutional holding. Condition: The map's condition is wonderful especially when considering how it's made as well as its intended use: it is bright white. With vibrant color, apparently only ... moreunfolded once or twice in its long life.
