Tang Dynasty, 8th or 9th Century A.D. Possibly a Ming Dynasty or 18th or 19th Century Qing Dynasty Revival Imitative. SIZE/MEASUREMENTS: Height: 145 millimeters(5 3/4 inches) Breadth: 79 millimeters(3 1/8 inches) Thickness: 80 millimeters(3 1/4 inches) CONDITION: Very good. No repairs but the majority of glaze is gone. A little wear and a few blemishes consistent with any decorative item which was buried for over one thousand years. A very thick alkaline soil deposition layer. Not flawless, but certainly in a better than average state of preservation– and unrepaired! Stands on its own. DETAIL: A nicely preserved clay statuette so wonderfully characteristic of Tang Dynasty statuary. Sancai. Or three-color glazes principally in yellow, green and brown was a development of the Tang Dynasty(618-907 AD) Sancai(three-colored" wares were first made for burial, using lead-based glazes that produced mottled and streaky effects in green, amber-brown, and cream, with an occasional addition of blue or black. The production of such exquisite porcelain items required multiple firings of fine white clay at temperatures near 1000c(1800f) degrees. A wide variety of statuettes were commonly produced such as musicians, chamberlains(butlers) maids, cooks, even animals; all designed to serve their deceased master. In early Tang dynasty. Production of sancai pottery figurines dominated the pottery scene, and their production continued well into the Ming era which advanced the art with more intense colors and finer porcelain clay. The pottery and porcelain figures produced from the Tang all the way through the Ming Dynasties are famous even until today for their beautiful

This is a very sweet and rare to find German bisque baby created by the Karl Schneider factory c1880-1910. He is one of the nicest I have had to sell. An adorable handpainted face! He is in excellent condition with no chips or repairs and measures just under 9 inches wide by 5 inches high. Marked on the bottom with impressed numbers of 10527, Germany and the Karl Schneider factory mark. He is a gorgeous baby for the collector! Rare Victorian Staffordshire Figure Polychrome and Pink Lustre c1850 ~ ELIZA COOK ~ English Poet 1818-1889 ~ Almost 10" tall ~ about 4" across the base A lovely Victorian Staffordshire figure with an interesting color scheme; her face and hair are realistically painted in subtle enamels and detail to her brown hair and blue eyes. And her dress is left white with pink lustre details. Her book and tiny foot sticking out of her skirt are black enamel. The lustre details have faded or worn a great deal but are still softly visible, see pics. In excellent condition; there are small spots of wear and crazing but no major damage or any repair or touch up. There is a black pottery inclusion on the bottom back and some small spots of wear along the front base. Antique German Porcelain Franz Witter Dresden Victorian Lady Figurine Figure
This is a gorgeous Victorian Lady Figurine by Franz Witter. She is wearing a lovely white dress with lots of porcelain rose accents and also accented with little porcelain blue bows. She is marked on bottom with the Franz Witter crown and F and the words Made in Germany. There is also the numbers 202 and what looks like the letter p incised into the porcelain. Approximately 8 1/4 inches tall and 5 1/4 inches wide at base. She is in very good condition with just two pink roses missing from dress and one of the tails chipped off a blue bow. Antique Victorian bisque hanging oil lamp swinging figure doll girl
This auction is for an antique Victorian bisque girl figure. Meant to hang as a decoration on a hanging oil lamp. She measures about 5" tall. The boy is being sold in a separate auction. While the boy shows an old repair, I don't see anything wrong with the girl figurine itself. The right side of the swing has a small crack on the top surface. It doesn't extend all the way through to the bottom but could be a weak spot. There is a blue number 23 on the bottom of the swing. She has a cute expression and bright color. Antique Victorian VOLKSTEDT LADY PUTTI Porcelain Plaque 19c German Bisque Figure This amazing high relief bisque plaque is attributed to Volkstedt German. Circa late 19th century. And features a classical maiden and her resting child. Made as part of a four seasons series. This one appears to be"A utumn" and has the mother and her child resting atop bales of hay. Excellent quality and attention to detail. One of the nicest plaques I have had the pleasure of listing. Approx. measurements of the plaque is 10 3/4" in diameter and approx. 2 1/2" deep. Excellent condition with minor age appropriate wear. The only thing I see that may be wrong, is the piec e she is holding in her hand. Is bit rough on bottom. From the photo of a similar one sold at Christie's(see note below) it looks like she is supposed to be holding a ... moresickle in her hand. It is not something you would not even notice unless you were looking at both plaques at same time. No other chips cracks or repairs. Colors are a bit brighter in photos than they are on actual plaque. Although unmarked. The plaque is definitely of German origin and most likely Volstedt. I believe it is a cigar and match holder and the back of the shovel is the stricker. One holder for cigares the other for matches and the base for ashes. This could also be used for flowers! The base is 5" across and 5" deep. The bisque represents a girl at the beach with a shovel in her hand and the water splashing at her feet. There is a pink porcelain lace drape with white trim on top of the piano and running down the side. Her pink and white porcelain lace dress has applied porcelain flowers as does the drape. Rare Antique Victorian German Bisque Naughty Lady Man Fairing Figurine Figure
For auction is a rare to find German bisque figural fairing group of two women and a gentleman hiding under the ones hoop skirt! I have not seen this piece before and believe it to be quite rare. It was from the same collector as a very rare fairing I just listed as well. Dates mid to late 1800s and appears to be in very good condition with some light wear and the lady in blue I believe had an umbrella at one time as there is a hole in her one hand. The ends of the ribbons on her bonnet have broken on the ends and there metal under the skirt has wear. These are minor in my opinion considering the age and rarity of this piece. The porcelain is in great shape, the color is in different tones of pinks on an off white. No chips or breaks. This is a rare pare to find. They are in tones of pink, beautifully hand painted. This is absolutely such a Lovely Old Vintage Angel Sitting Statue. The old original technique of workmanship in the statue just add's so much to it's Character& Beauty. The facial details of expression are just very beautiful. The statue is Heavy Sturdy in weight. As you can see in the pictures that it is referred to as a"Sitter" Angel. As it sits in position of legs that hang over the edge of any type of Ledge space. Ivory Cream with Gold Accents. The Angel has the most beautiful detailed expression. Victorian Early Parian figure of Dorothea by Minton / John Bell - Circa 1850
This is a fine piece of Parian by Minton. The subject is Dorothea and it was modeled by John Bell. Measurements: 14 inches in height. Condition: the is in good condition with age appropriate wear. There are two known issues. There is a chip to Dorothea's cap on her left shoulder. Also. It appears her shoe was reattached in an early repair. See photos for more detail. Base is marked"Minton" and"189" for the model number. On the side. It has the Minton moulded marks applied in relief including the Felix Summerly and John Bell cartouche in use circa 1847-9. And it has the registered diamond indicating that this design was registered at the Patent Office on Oct. 4, 1847. This is a wonderful rare pair of bisque figures created by the Gerbruder Heubach factory of Germany c1890-1910. They are at the sea. The boy has a fish and the girl is carrying her shoes as she stands at the oceans edge. They measure approximately 11 inches high and are both marked with the sunrise marking. The girl is in excellent condition. Just three tiny nibbles on the bottom edge of her base. The boy has had his head professionally restored at the neck. It was a good job and so it is hard to notice on display. A few small nibbles at the very rim of his base and I see a tiny bit of paint on his pinky finger. As you can see. A large. Good quality, Victorian, parian porcelain figure of Dick Whittington as a young boy. He is seated at the side of a milestone which reads, IV miles to London" and titled"Dick Whittington" at the front of the base plinth. Impressed"S29" to the rear of the plinth. Dating to the second half of the 19th Century and based on the original sculpture by Charles Bell Birch, that was exhibited at the Great Exhibition of 1851, at Crystal Palace. This is a gorgeous hard to find beautiful German bisque baby wearing a bathing cap created by the Heubach factory c1890. he is so sweet with his arms over his knees and beautiful rosy cheeks and lips! He is a nice size at approximately 7 inches high by 5 inches wide. The condition is excellent. I see no chips. Repairs, restorations. There is a small firing flaw on his one arm in the back that looks like a little dent or scrape in the porcelain which occurred in the making. He is marked on the bottom with painted numbers and I think impressed numbers as well. This is a gorgeous large bisque sweet baby girl in her pink bonnet created by the Gerbruder Heubach factory circa 1890-1910. She is a rare large size to find at approximately 9 1/4 inches high by almost 6 inches wide and is fairly heavy weighted. Her condition I would consider excellent/very good. I see no chips. Repairs, restorations at all. Only flaws to mention are some stress lines on the back bottom base of her which occur sometimes over age in early bisque/porcelain pieces. She is marked on the bottom with numbers and the Gerbruder Heubach sunrise impressed mark. PERFECT German Volkstedt Dresden Porcelain Lace Victorian Lady Figurine Figure
I will be adding more figurines so please check back. This is a lovely hand painted porcelain figurine of a ballerina dancer. She has blue eyes and auburn hair. She is holding a porcelain flower in her right hand. She has pink porcelain lace at her neckline and her skirt is white porcelain lace with pink trim and 2 applied porcelain flowers including a yellow rose. She is in excellent condition with no damage. She is marked on the bottom with he blue crown mark of the Volkstedt Factory in Volkstedt. Thuringia, and also Made in Germany. She measures just under 4 high. Payment is due within 3 days of auction end. I do combine shipping whenever possible. If postage is less than expected. I do refund the difference.
