The jar is in overall good condition with one shallow chip under the rim of the lid. Mild wear to the painted decor and gilding at the foot is noted in photos. Interestingly, the original painted decor and gilding was removed and was painted over with the flowers, perhaps the original jar purchaser cancelled their order and the maker painted over the removed design to save the jar for continued use (see pics 16-19 for reference). Beautiful vase in mint condition made by the distinguished porcelain maker Jacob Petit(1830-1860) Depicting a pair of doves. One sitting in her nest with eggs and the other standing in a bark. Great colors all around the piece, has a scroll base which makes it very rococo style typical of the Jacob Petit factory. It is gilded on its base and also inside the vase. This is an extremely rare piece to find and its around 180 years old. This is not a reproduction, guaranteed to be original. I have read that Petit loved the challenge of technically difficult cut-work such as this coupled with deep bas relief carvings. Exuberant gold scroll work and beading. A fleur-painted tray to hold jewelry or other small treasures. With holes in the dragon's back for brooches or necklaces. The ram's head in Chinese art is often reduced to a simple geometric form so that it almost goes unnoticed by the unknowing eye. And indeed I almost missed these little fellows. Thus the lucky rams on the rim of this piece assist the fierce dragon in providing protection to the owner's jewelry. The dragon is a central symbol in Chinese art. Being offered is a Superb Massive Pair of 19th C. Vion& Baury Bisque Porcelain Man& Women Figurines. These figurines were produced by Gille studio and modeled by artist Charles Baury. The Paris porcelain studio of Gille was founded in 1845 to produce bisque busts. Statuettes and groupings in the realistic style. Charles Baury was a modeler at Gille Jeune and together with Desire Vion acquired the firm on the rue Paradis-Poissonnerie, later moving production to Choisey-le-roi in 1875. Their pieces are marked with a green overglaze anchor on the base. The quality& detail of these figurines are truly exquisite especially the life like expressions seen on their faces and raised intricate beading found throughout their clothing. Although these pieces will display quite nicely there are condition issues and each will be sold in"AS ... moreIS" condition. The women: her head has been re-attached and a few ruffles on her hat have been repaired(see pictures 11,12) I see no other issues. The man: a small area of his cape toward the bottom has been professional repaired nicely done, the top of his bow& arrow are missing, there is a chip on the underside of the base(see pictures 9,10) I see no other issues. The man stands 21 3/4" tall, the women 22 1/2" tall.

Rare HUGE Antique Sevres Vion Baury French Paris Porcelain Man Figurine Figure
This is a beautiful rare large hand painted porcelain figure created in France circa 1870-90. He is very heavy weighted and a large size at 19 1/4 inches high by 7 inches wide. And weighs a whopping 11.12 lbs. The green anchor mark of the Vion& Baury factory has worn away, but is partially found on his lady mate listed in my separate listing. His face is very finely handpainted and he is walking in the meadow holding a baby goat as the momma goat looks up lovingly. This figure displays very well however the momma goat has one broken ear and the bottom of his scruff and the baby goat has one broken ear. There is a shallow chip on the back bottom base and the pink flowers are chipped on top. There is a tight hairline on the back of the figure near the bottom and also under the base. It is very tight and the figure feels very solid. Superb ... morefigure for the collector! He is a superb example for the collector and has a lady mate in the last picture that will be offered in a separate listing. If interested please take a look. The dealer who sold me this porcelain cherub holding a sheeve of wheat told me that it was Paris Porcelain. Definately porcelain. It's signed on the bottom with two crossed arrows. My mother said that this means it's serves, but I so think that Serves is with crossed swords. Whomever made this vintage/antique cherub knew how to make fine porcelain it's really a super high end item. There are minor chips on one piece of wheat and one leaf that I only felt and could not see. It measures a rather large and nice 9"tall x 3"wide. It is hard to see and at first I missed it, this underglaze mark is shown in the 4th photo. Just a little up from the very center of photo. I do not know its age; I'm sure the collectors will know. This is a stunning large antique parian porcelain bust created by Sevres of France in the 19th century. She is very finely modeled and in overall excellent condition. Just a few blemishes in the porcelain which occurred over the years, do not see any repairs or breaks. The columnar base is a rich deep cobalt blue with gold gilding. ANTIQUE MADONNA& CHILD FIGURE Description: This week I am listing a Belgian Andenne or French Old Paris bisque porcelain figurine of Mary and baby Jesus. From the late 19th century. The Madonna figure has been very well modelled and decorated with her robes painted in pale colours, standing on a raised, glazed and gilded stand. Especially her hands are very delicate and quite amazingly they aren't broken or chipped. The bottom rim is again unglazed and painted in a dark blue. On the bottom is a painted number 8 mark. Here is a great set of 4 Porcelain Soldiers for your buying consideration. Recently acquired it at an estate sale. Would make a great gift or keep it for yourself! We are open to piecing these figures out individually if any party is interested in doing that way as well. The company name noted on the bottom of the pieces is"Porcelaine de Paris" and then has a cross arrow image. The painting and glaze on each of the pieces still looks good. Very little crazing going on. The colors and detailing are very eye catching. I see no cracks. Chips, or repairs to report to you. Some minor paint loss along some edges, probably from polishing over the years. The hands and ... morefingers are all intact too. Not sure if any of the pieces actually held something in their hands at some point or not. Kind of posed that way, but I see no markings on the inside of the hands that would indicate that something was affixed there at any point in the past. The one piece standing with his arms crossed is a rendering of Napoleon with the years of his birth and death noted on the tombstone that his cape is draped over. The other 3 pieces have a round base and are probably renderings of soldiers in Napoleon's army. The Napoleon piece has a square base. The others have a round base. Found a Napoleon online from this company with an elevated base and the tombstone that went for $399 by itself. The porcelain figures are 8.25" to 8.75" tall. She has exquisite details and lovely soft colors. She stands approximately 9-5/8" tall. She has no damage that I can see, no chips, cracks or repairs, but she is a bit dirty and is being sold in the condition in which she was found. I will leave her cleaning up to her new owner.
