At auction is a pair of Staffordshire dogs. They have condition problems. So an animal rescue buyer would be appreciated. They measure 3 3/4" high, 2 1/2" wide and 1 5/8" thick. The left dog in the picture has small chips on both ears. There is a crack on the left ear with an attempted repair. There is a chip at the bottom near the rear haunches. The right dog in the picture has paint missing from his nose. He has crack lines on the front, between his legs when seen from a side view and a crack on the back at the bottom. Please examine the pictures carefully, as my eyes may have missed something. I have described this item to the best of my ability and knowledge. They come from a clean. Smoke free home. I am happy to answer any questions before you bid.

Pair Genuine Victorian STAFFORDSHIRE Figures Figurines Highlanders Hunter Piper
This auction is for a fine pair of genuine Victorian Staffordshire figures. They are made from glazed white pottery with traces of gilt highlighting and depict a Highland piper and hunter. Both figures are dressed in green and wear kilts. The hunter is shown resting against his gun with his dog at his side. He has a feather in his hat and a cape over one shoulder. The piper is wearing a sporran and is holding bagpipes. The figures stand 15' high and measure 8' from side to side and 3 and 3/4' from front to back. Both are in very good condition given their age(and the fact that we brought them back from England in hand luggage! with no chips. Cracks or flakes. The paintwork remains good. There are no manufacturers marks but are genuine Staffordshire Victorian period. These are the real deal! No reproduction! Pair of absolutely gorgeous Staffordshire dogs from the 1800's. Hand painted. Beautiful gold chain around their necks. This set has the separated front legs which is hard to find. There is no painting on the backs. They were designed this way because they are meant to sit on a mantle with their backs against the wall. One dog has had a repair on one of its front legs that is so minor it could not be picked up by the camera. These dogs are in excellent condition. If you have any questions feel free to ask. STAFFORDSHIRE DALMATIAN DOG FIGURINES - OPPOSING MATCHED PAIR - 5 1/2" TALL
NO RESERVE BID- Here is a really charming old diminutive opposing pair of Staffordshire Dalmatian Dog Figurines. There are almost identical except that one figurine is very slightly taller than the other. One stands approximately 5 1/2" and the other 5 5/8" They have red collars gold. Padlocks and gold chains. Thery appear to be all in great shape but do have"age" crazing under the glaze. I m absolutely no authority and all I can say for certain is that they did come from an old estate. I will be glad to try to answer any email questions. There are no maker's marks or other identification that I can discern. In any event they are certainly a handsome pair in great shape. 19th Century Antique Matching Numbered Pair Staffordshire Porcelain Spaniel Dogs
Here is a perfectly wonderful old numbered and trade marked matching pair of Staffordshire Spaniels that date back to the late 1800's. The British royalty loved their Cavalier King Charles Spaniels and they became a revered subject for the porcelain pottery makers of 19th Century England. The pair came down with my Great-Grandparents to Bartow. Florida in 1910 and have been in the family since. I only say this because it probably makes them a"one owner" provenance. The mark on the base is that of"Old Staffordshire Ware England" And both pieces are numbered but only one still legibly. They appear to be numbered 43 and 17 and of course, the numbers are under the original glaze. In 1892 Parliament decreed that English pottery must say"England" on the bottom. Twenty years later the mark had to read"Made ... morein England" The Spaniels stand 5 1/2" high and the base is four inches long by 2 3/4" at the widest part. The pair is in absolutely perfect condition. With no cracking, chipping or crazing whatsoever. I photographed them in sunlight and with flash to try and bring out the lovely rose gold paint under the glaze. The locket and collar are probably 24 carat solid gold paint. I will want to send these insured for at least the value of the winning bid. If you would like. I can insure them for the appraised value of five hundred U.S.D. I will not take the chance of sending them overseas.

DESCRIPTION: NO RESERVE for a pair of small-size pair of Antique 19th century English Staffordshire Begging Spaniel Dog Figurines. Measure about 4" tall each. Please note. A true pair and the dog's positions reverse such that they are facing each other when the figurines are placed side-by-side(pic#1) Appear hand-modelled and not from molds and please note how one of the dogs is a little shorter and fatter than the other as can be seen especially in pic#4. Probably early- to mid- 19th century Staffordshire. These are marked with a red anchor on the underside as shown. A very nice pair of Staffordshire nodders. The lady stands 6 3/4" tall. The man is 6 1/2" tall. This is an antique item. But they are in excellent condition for their age, circa. 1870. Young Man& Woman Pair Staffordshire Figures (Perhaps Representing Spring) c.1850
This beautiful pair of mid Victorian Staffordshire figures depict a young man and young woman in late Georgian or early Victorian dress each carrying flowers(he in a basket and she in her apron) Both have caps at jaunty angles and are colorfully dressed in greens and pinks. Both stand on bases decorated with brocage with green and russet roots and limbs. I think they may be part of a set that represented the four seasons. These being Spring or perhaps Summer. The bases have been ground a bit(I think to makes them stand flatly) I believe these figures to date from some time around 1840-1860. They are 7 3/4" tall for the young man and 7 1/2" tall for the young woman. The underside base of the young man is marked with the number 288 and the underside base of the young woman is marked with might be 218. These dogs appear to me to be spaniels(feel free to send me your corrections! In either case. They feature black and white coloring, with yellow detail near their noses and gold detail on their collars. They each stand alert. One with head to the left and the other to the right. They would look great on either end of a mantle or a bookshelf! This lovely pair came to us with badly damaged eyes. They have been replaced with brown acrylic eyes that fit the pieces much better. These pieces are English and date to about the mid-1800's. Overall. The dogs are in good condition. RARELY SEEN Pair of Staffordshire White Lions w Glass Eyes Gold Touches Sitting Down Absolutely gorgeous- never seen a pair like them"Best Gold" used circa 1850 Description These are large Staffordshire lions 12" long by 10" high. They have a placid lovely expression that makes you feel good as if they were relaxing on a sunny day, They are beautifully crafted: the noses are painted black. The eyes are orange glass with a black pupil. The lions have black whiskers and a black mouth which has an O shape. They are rimmed in black and their gorgeous manes haves streaks of gold in them. The more I describe them the more I love them. Now. I am aware that Staffordshire was made for the up and coming middle class in England but these creatures have an aristocratic look that somehow sneaked in. They honestly have an expression ... morethat speaks to you. Not all Staffordshire figures do but I tend to collect the more expressive ones. Condition- Excellent to very good antique condition. One of the lions has a hairline crack on the back of the body near the bottom; It can be seen in the back view on the right hand lion) and what looks like two hairline cracks on the base at the back. Otherwise no peeling. No apparent damage of any kind, no smells. There is a tag on the bottom of one of the lions that says: Hudgkins Gallery.
