The chairs are both tight and sturdy with strong, tight rush bottom seats that were probably replaced in the latter 20th century. The chairs each stand 38 inches tall to the top of the back and measure 21 1/2 inches wide by 22 inches front to back. The seats are 15 inches in height and are 20 1/2 inches wide by 18 1/2 inches, front to back. The back rest and across front of the seats on the chairs are beautifully carved and appear to have hand turned stretchers. These chairs appear to be made of walnut, with rush bottom seats. Antique Pair French Porcelain Bronze Blue Bird Parrot Candle Lamp Bluebird
Offered as is as found are a wonderful pair of antique french porcelain blue bird candle holder lamps. These are being sold as found and have a great shabby appeal. No damage to the birds which are stunning sitting on their tree trunks. The flowers have chips and one holder may have a couple missing all easily replace here on Ebay. All of which only adding more shabby character to these rare pieces. The patina has age and you may wish to polish to remove any excess old polish or to bright up. But I feel they display great as they are. These are the same with the exception of the base which each hold their own likeness and one has a drip pan in holder the other does not. These appear to have been wired for electric use at some point with reminents of old wire existing. You could choose to rewire or utilize them as candle holders. They are large, each measuring 15 1/2" tall to the top of the lid finials. There are some old repairs. A few tiny nicks to flower petals and base rim, and one of the urns has a crack on the side as shown in the photos, however these pieces are heavy and sturdy and this does not affect the stability. SIZE: They measure approximately 8.5 inches high. CONDITION: There is an old professional repair to his base which is mostly underneath. There is loss to 2 fingertips on his right hand. She has no apparent damage but there is a manufacturing firing/stress crack on one side of her neck. It is right near her hair and you will only notice it if you're looking for it. They were purchased in 1976 at Le Pappillon. One of Dallas' finest antique shops, which was owned by the late Bertha Louise Ahlchlager. She was known for her exquisite taste and made numourous buying trips to France where she would acquire the finest antique pieces. This large stunning pair of figurines is a beautiful representation of young romance. Both are dressed in detailed 18th century costumes that have been jeweled with raised dots of porcelain. The pair has been extensively hand painted and both have gilt accents applied. The female figure wears a white jeweled chemise. Her pale green and white stripe corset has gilt lacings and is edged with white ruffles. ... moreThe gown is brocaded with blue, pink, and green flowers and edged with white lace that has been jeweled. She holds a gilt edged fan in her hand. Her head is covered in a pale blue marmotte and her blond hair has gilt ribbons. Her feet are adorned in blushing pink slippers with pale blue bows. The male figure is dressed in a white jeweled ruffled shirt, a waistecoat brocaded with flowers and gilt buttons. He wears pale green and white pinstripe brocaded britches, white jeweled stockings, and pale green shoes with white and gilt buckles. He is draped in a white cape with pale yellow lining. Gilt is applied to the edges of the cape. He wears a pale blue beret on his head which was usually worn only by french nobility in the 18th century. Both figures stand approximately 14" tall with bases measuring approximately 6" in diameter. The bases are adorned with handpainted flowers and gilt edges. There is a small vent hole in the base of each figurine. There is another small vent hole in the folds of the cape of the male figure but is barely noticeable. From my 30 +++ years of collecting. Pair of antique, handpainted porcelain figurines sculpture hanging wall plaques. Very high quality with exquisite workmanship, 3 dimensional super high relief. Large and heavy, ready to hang. Each wall plaque measures 21" high X 17" wide. The porcelain plaque with the man and woman measures approx. 12 1/2" high X 10" wide. There are a few chips that need to be mentioned. There is a small chip on the lower portion of the frame(see photo#5) There is a small piece of the gold chipped off on the other frame(see photo#6) On that porcelain plaque, the woman is missing the tips of her 4 fingers. Also, looks like there was an old repair on the man's left arm. The tip of the woman's right shoe is chipped(small and underneath) On the other plaque, the only chip that I can see is the man's ... moreright pinky finger. Otherwise, everything else is in excellent condition. Note: The color of the background green on both wall hangings are more in line with photo#1,2,and 3. Here is a beautiful pair of 19th century Sevres french porcelain lute player figures in their popular Bleu Celeste glaze with gold gilt accents. Each figure measures about 8 1/2" tall x 4 1/2" at their widest. The male figure holds his lute instrument and sits on a bench with books atop of it. The female figure holds a song book and is singing to the tune of the lute. The male figure was professionally repaired many years ago and broke off around his knee region. From my 35 +++ years of collecting. Pair of antique, handpainted porcelain figurines sculpture hanging wall plaques. Very high quality with exquisite workmanship, 3 dimensional super high relief. Large and heavy, ready to hang. Each wall plaque measures 21" high X 17" wide. The porcelain plaque with the man and woman measures approx. 12 1/2" high X 10" wide. There are a few chips that need to be mentioned. There is a small chip on the lower portion of the frame(see photo#5) There is a small piece of the gold chipped off on the other frame(see photo#6) On that porcelain plaque, the woman is missing the tips of her 4 fingers. Also, looks like there was an old repair on the man's left arm. Pair of 18th Century Porcelain Cherub Figurine and French Bronze Candleholders
These cherubs radiate a certain quality of loveliness. Innocence and purity beyond any modern counterparts. One holds a sheaf of wheat and a sickle, and one holds a basket of grapes and a gold goblet. They seem to be saying, A loaf of bread and a jug of wine. The easily-removable porcelain figurines measure 7" high and 3" diameter at the base. The elaborate bronze candle holders measure 15" across. 8" wide and 8 1/4" high. They hold candles 7/8" or narrower. These exquisite cherubs are in perfect condition, except for two tiny petals chipped on a flower- see magnified closeup pic- the chips are approximately 1/64th inch. These items weigh just over 2 pounds each. The bronze metal candle holders are marked on the bottom"Made in France" and the figurines were probably attached to them sometime in the ... morelast 100 years. Some of the gently restored ceramic flowers on the"vines" of the candle holders have been chipped and I will provide the few remaining flowers which could also be repaired and added back on. The holders were once wired to hold small electric flame bulbs with cardboard supports which looked like candles. The electrical wiring was removed so they could again be used to hold candles if desired. I also saved the hardware if one wants to put in new electrical wiring. Do not be deceived by the new-looking mark on the bottom of the cherub figurines- a blue crown over double C mark. I believe this mark was fabricated and stamped by whomever created the"made in France" lamps. There are other indecipherable. Green markings which were probably the original marks from a German porcelain factory. The cherub figurines are quite old, perhaps from the 1700's, Ludwigsburg or Kronenburg, KPM or Augustus Rex also had green markings. An expert could probably recognize these pieces by their style. Please note that this item is not returnable. Not shipped for inspection. They are very fragile and will be shipped fully insured by USPS.

This is a rare huge pair of French porcelain figures.a royal couple dressed beautifully in gilt and hand painted clothing with porcelain lace trim! They measure 16 inches high each by 6 inches wide at the base and are very heavy weighted. They were created c1880-1890s and are superb displays! Overall display excellent. There is a few damages. His one finger is half broken and she had a fan I believe in her hand that was broken off. Some of the lace decoration is missing and there are a few minor flake chips on the base. Here is a lovely pair of 19th Century glazed bisque French poodle dog figures each holding a basket in its mouth. They are 3" high and are in good condition for their age with no chips or cracks. But there is paint loss to the gold paint that was on the baskets and on parts of the fur originally. And there is a glaze flaw on one dog with a rough raised spot, but this is typical to these figurines. They are both marked Germany down the sides of their backs but it is a very faint impression under the glaze(but the marks are there) These are authentic old dogs. Pair Vion et Baury Antique French Bisque/Porcelain Statues/Figurines 20" Marked
Up for auction is this pair of 1870's French bisque statues of a man and woman by Vion and Baury. They are twenty inches tall and eight inches wide each. Each figure weighs approximately 10 pounds. The pair are in excellent condition with no chips. Fleabites, cracks etc. The exception to this is the male figures left hand which is joined to the wrist by an old repair in the form of an inner peg. There is no loss of bisque and the hand was glued securely to the wrist but has become separated. When glued there will be little appearance of any damage. The colors of these figures are astounding! The turquoise. Pink, light blue and teal are remarkably brilliant and true. They seem to be in wedding clothing and it appears that she is weeping. I suspect that there is a popular story that is associated with this couple. On the base of the woman ... morethere is a"VB" in blue written in a three dimensional marking. On the male statue there is a black anchor marking. They are indeed an attractive couple. Heavy(nearly 6 pounds each) pieces with great display impact, she's 17 inches tall. He's 17.5 inches. About the manufactory: Mark is a painted/ fired blue W-see photos top of page. I found this mark in several of my books. It belonged to a Paris factory on Rue Fontaine-au-Roi from 1771-1841. This factory had several owners. Some well known to collectors of Paris Porcelain( Locré. Russinger, Pouyat. Clauss) Some not as well known; I'm not sure who owned the factory when this pair was made. As is the case with many of the Paris porcelain factories, further details are lost to time, only the porcelain remains. A lovely testament to the quality goods created by this French manufactory. Rue Fontaine-au-Roi in the 1800s. What is Bisque? Bisque(biscuit) is a type of porcelain that is fired but unglazed. Allowing the modeler to design crisp, sharp details that really make a bisque piece stand out- since glaze can obscure tiny and precious details. Meant to imitate carved marble, bisque was first used in Europe in the 1700s, and was all the rage in the courts of France, especially during the French Empire. It was a valued medium of many upscale French manufactories, Jean Gille, Vion& Baury, Sevres, Limoges(Charles Haviland, Henri Ardant) bi sque? Both present well despite the following condition issues: Woman's right index finger broken as well as the item she is holding. Very small chip under rim at base(see pics) Man's right hand index finger and thumb broken, some gilt wear on jacket buttons and cuffs, small chip under rim of base(see pics) Chips at base can only be seen when statues are turned upside down. Both are marked on bottom: LP inside blue oval pad and printed 8 symbol(see pics) Man measures approximately 15 1/2" and woman approximately 15" tall.

Large 15" antique bisque handpainted figurines. Heavy well molded pieces in the style of Vion and Baury. Nicely detailed faces. Figurines appear to be dressed in Empire style. Woman has decorative head dress. Gold earrings, and she is holding a folded fan. She is in good condition, no chips or breaks. Man holding a rose and carrying his hat tucked under his left arm, has some issues: damage to both hands which appear to have been professionally repaired, broken stick in left hand and black dot under cuff, broken right shoe which was repaired. All repairs appear to be old. They do not detract from the item(see pics) Statues are unmarked.

Check out my! This is an outstanding pair of Vion and Baury figurines. Photos 8 and 9 show the green anchor mark. The figurines are just a shade over 15 inches. They are in excellent condition. Photos 7 and 10 show what appear to be some type of stress mark on the male. Possibly stress cracks. Those are the only 2 flaws I can see. Everything else including the fingers are perfect. Note the bunny in his hunt sack on his lower right side. The female is at the water trough filling a jug. She has a bouqate of flowers at her right side and filling the jug for the flowers in her right hand. Everything on her is perfect. I have posted 12 photos which is the max for ebay. Both are marked Dresden with a blue crown above as you can see. We are not experts and are trying to identify and describe these figurines to the best of our ability. I have examined the one in the pink poofy dress with a magnifying glass and can't see any breakage. The other one with the white layered skirt has some breakage on her left side just under her elbow and a little hole a bit farther back. Neither spots just jump out like some breaks I've seen. These are a quite stunning pair of the large male& female hand decorated bisque figurines of the highest quality of which: During our research we have been informed they cer tainly date from 19th century and are of a French origin. Date about c1880s. Underneath each: a logo. This pair of figurines were part of a very interesting house clearance about 5/6 years ago.The owner of the London house worked for the American Embassy here in the uk. He and his family had been here for about 5 years and needed to get back to the USA to take on another role in the USA. My interest was in the 16th century oak furniture which had been purchased by the American couple with some other items. The owner wanted more than the current value of the oak furniture and during negotiations this magnificent pair of bisque figures. The figurines i kept and displayed in the drawing room in my own house since the house clearance. Both are portrayed dancing in their wonderful dress attire with the intricate detailing. Both in a dancing posture with an arm raised above the head. The female has a tambourine to the base. Pair GORGEOUS antique French porcelain figurines birdcage, dog, sheep, ca. 1900
A FANTASTIC pair of French porcelain figurines of exceptional quality. The woman measures 9" high and is holding a fantastic reticutaed bird house occupied by a little bird. She holds a letter. Presumably from her courtier. She is beautifully cast and painted. The top of her sleeve(over cage) feels rough to the touch, but no damages have been found. Her back base is impressed"Depose" making her French. Her gentleman measures 9 1/2" high and has a sheppard dog at his side, again the detail and quality is wonderful. He has suffered a decapitation and an old reglue. His hat has a small flake at top, but amazingly no other breaks. He holds a white dove in hand and he also holds a love letter. Both undersides of figures have hard to decipher incised marks, one mark appears to be an"L" and a variation of the letter ... moreL. There are blue marks as well, none have been identified, but are obviously by a good maker. These come from a recent and incredible old time-warp family estate consisting of inherited Victoriana. Pair of Porcelain Birds on Ormolu Bases - French Meissen Mark ?
Pair of exceptional Continental porcelain birds on Ormolu. Finely detailed porcelain birds in a beautiful color palette on ormolu mounts with foliate scrolls. Crossed double blue sword mark on each bird located on the underside of the branches as shown in pictures. Very good condition- there is what appears to be a factory firing mark under the wing of one bird(see second to last picture) The male bird has a small chip on the end of one tail feather(see last picture) Also of note the tail feather with the small chip has a slightly different color to than the other feathers- I originally thought this might be an old repair that had discolored but then noticed the feather is this color from end to end and the female bird has the same color on it's side feathers which definitely have not been repaired- not sure what type of bird this is ... morebut believe the feathers were intended to have these distinctions as an accurate depiction of the species and there is no repair to either of the birds. This is a rare pair of birds in a large size- make a great display and in great overall condition for their age! Male bird measures approximately 11" tall by 9" wide on round 5" diameter base.
