Here’s what the Nymphenburg website has to say about her: Large pig– lots of luck. Little pig– little luck. Well, it’s just not true! Even the mini-size lucky pig can bring you good fortune. Luise Terletzki-Scherf designed the animal that is on a bed of clover for the Porzellan Manufaktur Nymphenburg in 1933. Rare 1900 Nymphenburg Porcelain Whoopee Bird Figurine Porzellan Wiedehopf Figur
For sale is a rare figurine of a whoopee bird( Wiedehopf in German) made by Nymphenburg in the early 20th century. Not a model you really ever come across except in books and not one produced today anymore. The bird is really well modeled sitting on a stup with some flowers on it. Amazingly his beak is still intact which is often not the case. He is rextremely well painted- quite the stunning piece! The piece is 13.25 inches tall. 6 inches deep and 4.5 inches wide so rather large. It is marked with the impressed shield mark underneath the base as well as the impressed model number 166/ a. This beautiful antique porcelain Nymphenburg greyhound was designed by one of the top Nymphenburg designers. Theodor Karner, at the beginning of the last century. The piece is 5 inches high and 10.75 inches long.This piece has been in my family for generations and was originally purchased by my grand-mother in Austria. It's in excellent condition. But there is a very hard-to-see hairline crack/chip behind its front elbow(please see 2nd photo, which is not visible due to its location. This is a beautiful fine pair of Blanc de Chine Nymphenburg figures of royalty. A queen and king. They each measure approximately 7 1/4 inches high and display very well. The lady is in very good condition with the exception to one finger being repaired. The gentleman is in good/fair condition as he has broken fingers on one hand. Part of the bow on his neck broken and one leaf on a flower on the pedestal and then there is a very tiny nick on the brim of his hat. I feel these would be easy to restore if desired. Stamped in red-65 with another# looks written 2474- the other piece I cannot make out a stamp, they do have air holes on the bottoms of each, THE CHERUB THAT HAS A NICK& WING REGLUED IS THE CHERUB WITH BOTH HANDS OUT TO REACH YOU, 2nd PICTURE) The nick is super tiny, Is NOT VIIBLE FROM THE FRONT) more like a flea nick, its very difficult to see, its on the tip of the left wing, the same wing has been reglued and again its very difficult to see and detect, you really have to look closely, it is the same cherub with the stamps on the bottom, looking at it straight on you cannot tell there is any damage, The other Cherub is perfect! Swiss-born German modeler Franz Anton Bustelli(1723- 1763) designed this sculpture for Nymphenburg in c. 1755. He worked for Nymphenburg since 1754 until his depth. It is a magnificent piece originally sculpted by Prof. Theodor Karner. As one can clearly see it is meticulously crafted and painted giving it an amazing life like appearance. The one thing that really caught my eye is the overall detailed work especially the feet. Feathers and head area which is incredible. This piece dates to sometime between 1905-1918, as this is the time Prof. Karner worked for Nymphenburg, though from my research I believe it dates to specifically 1914. It has a blue impressed Nymphenburg hallmark on the outer top edge of the base along with a green hallmark on the bottom, impressed numerals 5 397 and T. Karner. It has little to no wear throughout as it was carefully cabinet kept. ... moreThere is a small manufacture separation in the pottery just below his right foot and some horizontal striations on the left side of his neck which may be for effect. There are a few flecks or what I call glaze skips throughout. There is a tiny one on the very tip of his tail that I intially thought may be a small tiny chip though the way it is formed and where it is leads me to believe it is a glaze skip. I have tried to photograph these detailed descriptions so please review the photographs carefully as they are also part of the description. These descriptions certainly do not initially jump out at you and do not detract from the general aesthetics of this gorgeous piece which are only mentioned for accuracy. One may say it has weathered the many years extremely well and is in very good condition with no cracks, breaks or repairs that I can detect. This treasure measures approximately 6 3/4 inches highest point of his tail x 3 1/2 inches widest point across x 8 5/8 inches longest points. This is an authentic vintage porcelain German Blanc De Chine Nymphenburg figurine brought back from Germany after WWII. This is a united figurine version of a 2 piece set recently listed on Ebay. It is in excellent preowned condition. Here are the item details: The figurine measures 6" h x 3"x 41/2" base and 6" at it's widest point. It has the embossed Wittelsbach diamond-shaped coat of arms emblem on the underside of the base and on the topside in front of the figures. There are also the initials u/I OR I/n on the underside as well. Not sure which way to read it. The figurine is completely intact with no cracks. There are imperfections in two places. One at the base of the man's left foot. The other is in the back at the base of the woman's dress. Both appear to be part of the construction process of the figurine ... moreitself. He is holding his fair maidens arm as he leads her to dance or for a stroll perhaps. There is a hat under his left elbow. She has beautiful. Delicate bows and flowers on her dress, as well as other intricate details(pearl necklace around her neck) She is holding her dress in her right hand. And nothing in her left. When this piece was brought back. Someone glued felt to the bottom, which was removed. But, remnants of the felt and the glue remain. Lots of pictures to detail this description. This is a marked Nymphenburg Buck Deer. He is just over 8" long and just over 5" tall. I had a hard time parting with this guy. Somethings you come across just grab you for their beauty and he is it for me. The Antlers are so delicate. I felt him all over and the only thing I can find on him is a front toe seems a bit more pointy or sharp then the others. I looked close and it might be a super tiny flake at the very tip. Other then feeling it you would have to get down an really look at this to see it if it is. All the toes are sharp this is made so accurate. Nymphenburg Outstanding Painted Porcelain Cockatoo Figurine
This magnificent porcelain cockatoo figurine was made by Nymphenburg of Munich. Germany. It was collected by my mother when my parents were stationed in Munich from 1954-57. It measures 6 3/4in tall. The based has Nymphenburg impressed mark as green stamp. The model is numbered 677 and signed L. Scherf. The painting is beautifully done. It is still in excellent condition with no broken leaves or feathers. There is one small popped bubble in the glaze on the leaf by the right foot. It has been painted over by the artist at time of production. Outstanding addition to any collection!
