This is a pretty porcelain figurine from I believe the Art Nouveau/ Art Deco era. She measures 7.5" in height and 2.5cm across her base. She has impressed marks Foreign A38 on her base at the back. Her long hair is tied back and flowing over one shoulder. This piece is expertly modelled and hand painted in attractive pastel colors. Even the bottom of the base has bunches of grapes on it. She stands gracefully with her hand on her right hip as she holds a peacock with her left hand. Which happens to be staring back at her with feminine detailed eyes and flowing feathers of white and gold trim that add a true elegance to the piece. NOTE: The bottom of this piece is marked KPM and here is the story on the marking which I have just learned before my earlier listing of this figurine. This was purchased through an Estate sale as authentic German. With further research. I found that this is not an authentic KPM piece, it is a reproduction. Art Nouveau Rosenthal Porcelain Peacock by Gustav Oppel With 1920's Mark This is a very rare porcelain 1920's figurine made by Rosenthal. It is a beautiful full of color Peacock and it is very well made and handpainted. Designed by Gustav Oppel whose monogram is incised on the top base underneath the tail area. The Peacock is was the main figure of the Art Nouveau period and highly collectible. This model is quite hard to find undamaged at any age! This Peacock figurine is in perfect condition! It is marked underneath with the 1920's green Rosenthal mark as shown with Selb-Bavaria and has the gold Rosenthal sticker attached. It does look as the 978 model# is there but difficult to see. There were more of these made around 1960's but have the Rosenthal mark indicating that date. Please research Rosenthal date marks to verify ... morethis Peacock contains the mark from the 1920's making it an Early ORIGINAL G. OPPEL DESIGN. This figurine came from the estate of a female German doctor who had many high end early German and Asian collectibles that was auctioned by a well known high end auction house when she was moved into a care facility. This Peacock was among some of her most precious belongings she chose to remain with her in her care facility until her passing therefore was never available to be auctioned with the rest. I have no doubt that this is a very rare find and deserves a new home with someone who treasured it as much as she did. I will be happy to provide additional photos and information if needed. The bottom base is a round shaped massive base piece modeled with some relief detail and hand painted with flowers and leafs- and some gold trim highlights. Ceramic Art Nouveau/Art Deco Egyptian Revival Monkey Figurine
Nice estate find. A ceramic monkey that has been made to look like bronze. At one time this faux bronze had more if a goldish patina applied. Age has resulted in it wearing a bit thin. The piece has no cracks or chips, but does have some scuffing as well as small areas of red paint on the face and white on the back. While I am calling it ceramic, it has an unusual feel and ring, yet not quite metal so your guess is as good as mine! The base is is just under 2 inches by 1 3/4 inches across. It stands about 3.5 inches tall. This would make a nice desk or bookcase piece. Please review the photos closely and email with any questions.

Offered for your consideration is this 1920s art nouveau female modern dancer white satin glaze figurine planter attributed to Hobart for Weller Pottery by someone knowledgeable about these things(or at least he thinks he is knowledgeable) There are no markings so I won't say for sure but based on some on line research it does look like other pieces from Weller from the 1920s. This decorative. Female Art Nouveau bust was made around 1900 by the German sculptor Fritz Kochendörfer(1871-1942) Painted ceramic. F. Kochendörfer" is printed on the back. The number"321" appears at the bottom of the base. The name"Schindler" also appears in the base. Condition: It was broken at some point and has been restored. There are several cracks at the top and back of the head and on the base. The damage was not easy to photograph. There are more cracks than appear in the photos. The face was not damaged. The cracks have been repaired and painted over and are not readily visible. The repairs are solid. And the figurine is not overly fragile. Otherwise. The bust shows age-related signs of wear. FOR SALE TODAY VERY VERY RARE VINTAGE ANTIQUE COWAN FLOWER FROG TITLED- ... moreHEAVENWARD IN HIS"SPECIAL" IVORY GLAZE- SHE IS A BEAUTIFUL CREAM IVORY COLOR NOT BRIGHT WHITE GUY COWAN PRODUCED POTTERY FROM 1913 TO 1931 AND MANY OF HIS ITEMS WERE DESIGNED FOR USE BY FLORIST. DUE TO THE RARE SPECIAL CREAM COLOR- WHICH IS KNOWN AS"SPECIAL IVORY GLAZE" AND THE OVERALL EVEN CRAZING. I BELIEVE THIS TO BE A VERY EARLY PIECE, DATING BETWEEN 1913 AND THE MID 1920s. THOUGH SHE HAS CRAZING WHICH IS NORMAL FOR HER AGE IT IS NOT NOTICEABLE TO THE NAKED EYE. SHE IS AN AMAZING DEPICTION OF THE CLASSIC COWAN ART NOUVEAU STYLE. SHE HAS NO CHIPS, NO CRACKS, NO STAINS. THE SOME OF HER DETAILS ARE HIGHLIGHTED BY A HEAVIER COAT OF GLAZE AND YOU CAN SEE SOME RUNS IN THE GLAZE FROM THE UNDERNEATH SIDE OF THE BASE. THE BOTTOM OF THE BASE IS NOT GLAZED. I THINK SHE IS THE FINEST SAMPLE OF THE EARLY COWAN ART NOUVEAU FLOWER FROGS YOU WILL FIND. AGE- 1913 TO MID 1920s- ESTATE FIND MAKER- COWAN- MARKED ON UNDERSIDE OF BASE- ALSO MARKED WITH A 6 OR 9 CONDITION- VERY VERY GOOD CONDITION- ALL OVER EVEN CRAZING- NO CHIPS- NO CRACKS- NO STAINS MEASURES- 8 1/2" TALL 4" WIDE- 4 1/4" DIAMETER BASE
