Although the products were made in a factory, still they were true folkloristic ones: the precious lore of shaping and decoration was passed from father to son, from hand to hand. The art of decoration and the decorative pieces appeared with the dawn of the 20th century- the fist written document about the shapes and ornaments used by the pottery dates back to 1903. The stoneware-era ended in 1948. After the nationalization, the raw materials and the technology of firing were changed in order to adapt it to the production of porcelain- the fist products were the low-voltage porcelain insulators needed for the electrification of the country. After a couple of years of industrial porcelain, Hollohaza changed to produce household porcelain, including tableware and decorative items in 1957. Fortunately, the production of insulators, which was not in the least demanding considering the aesthetic and technical aspects, lasted only a short while and thus the workers skills and sense of beauty which the acquired during the stoneware era remained unscathed and appeared again in the production of porcelain.
