Offered for auction today is this rare antique hand painted Spanish majolica charger ceramic bowl. I beleive this may be called talavera pottery. It looks as if it may have a tin gaze as well. The piece was found in an estate over 20 years ago and has been stored away. The width is 15 1/4" and the height is 2 3/4" I believe it may be a tin glaze. As you can see there is a hand painted Granada shield. The rim is all shaped like a pie crust and hand painted as well. The condition is quite amazing. There is only one small chip on the rim that I can definitely say is a chip other than a few on the base where the piece sits. The others were glaze/paint misses. Please excuse the light reflections. B2859 Antique Terracotta European Ceramic Pottery of A Man Figurine
Offered for sale is this antique European painted ceramic of a man figurine. No markings and don't know the origin. It seems to be very old. Probably is a 19th century piece. The has painted reddish gold color, it has some color losses, I did some touch up to cover the paint losses. No other defects that I can see. It measures 8-1/8"H x 3-1/2" x 3-1/3" It is a nice and interesting sculpture.

Antique Ceramic Pottery Bunny Rabbit Figure Figurine. China, America, England ?
I bought this one last weekend at a local rummage sale here in the San Francisco Bay Area. I am not an expert on ceramic figures but am confident that this is an old one. How old and from where? I honestly have no idea. The bunny is about 7.5 inches tall. 10 inches long and 5.5 inches wide. It's quite heavy and weighs a little over 4 lbs. There is a moulding seam that runs exactly through the middle. Except for the mouth, where it verges of slightly to the left. There is some overall crazing here and there(like on the inside the ears. On top of the head and under the belly) There are two very small chips, both on a toe: the first one at its front left paw, the other at the paw behind it(see last two pictures for a close-up) Both chips are near the bottom and very obscure; you only can really spot them when you pick the piece up and hold ... moreit at an angle or upside down. Otherwise I couldn't find anything wrong with this piece of pottery. The bottom has a small vent hole on the bottom. But no marks. If you think you know more about this piece; I'd appreciate any info you might have. Thanks for looking! Posted with
