Know for being the first person to have swum the English Channel in August of 1875. From Dover to Calais, a distance of 40 miles in 21 hours and 45 minutes. Excellent quality and detailing. The back reads" Swan from Dover to Calais Capt n Webb Time 21 3/4 Hours" This bust shows him wearing two me dals. The first being the Royal Humane Society Stanhope Medal( the first recipient) for his attempted rescue of a seaman from the Atlantic Ocean and the second. The Liverpool Humane Society Medal. He was later awarded the newly designed Stanhope medal which is not shown on this bust. Antique Parian Girl Wearing A cross Bust Has Been Glued
This is a very fine bust and she is unfortunately broken. The neck has been glued but could use a better repair. The girl has no marks and she is about 7 inches tall. There might possibly be a nick above her eye but it is hard to tell if it was original or if it is a chip. The girl is wearing a cross. The bisque does have some dark pin prick marks and it might be normal. I don't know.

Antique Large Copeland Parian Bisque figural Mother and Child Staffordshire
We are pleased to offer this beautiful antique Parian bisque figural group depicting a mother and child. Possibly Copeland or another of the top quality English manufacturers. In excellent condition. However the finger and childs toy may have been repaired as they are showing a slightly different color. Measures about 12 inches tall, and the base measures 9 5/8 by 6 inches. The porcelain is slightly translucent when held to the light and has a very smooth polished finish. As found in a local estate and part of a collection of parian which was de accessioned in the late 1990's from the Bennington museum. Antique French parian ware sculpture figurine woman and boy Kaesbach
This parian ware figurine is 11 ½ inches high. 10 inches deep and 9 inches across. The figurine is a charming depiction of a woman with a child hanging on her back. The figurine is signed on the back with a blue crossed branches mark. It has impressed marks on the bottom that read Genuine Bisquit and Made in France. The piece is signed on the side with Kaesbach, which would likely be Rudolph Kaesbach(1873-1955) We are not sure whether he did this work or it is after his style. It is a lovely piece. The workmanship on the piece is excellent, especially on the fingers and the toes. It dates to the early 20 th century. It is in excellent condition with no chips. Cracks or repairs. The only imperfection is in the indentation on the womans arm that has something on it, maybe tape residue.

Antique Porcelain Bisque Figurine of a victorian boy dressed in period clothing. Holding a flower leaning on a fence. Late 19th century- Early 20th century. Actual date is unknown believed to be of German origin. The boy is standing on a porcelain pedestal painted to look like marble. Ornate design painted on his clothing. Bright rosy cheeks, a fence with shrubs. The detailed gold gilt is rubbed off in some places through out the statue and he could could use a bath. I did not clean him. There is a very small chip on his left shoulder and there are no cracks. The overall condition of this piece is very good especially considering his age. I took many photo's in high definition at every angle and left the photo's side way's for a larger more detailed look. He stands 16 1/4 inches Tall and is 4 1/2 inches at the base. Condition is excellent with all fingers and toes intact which is very hard to find in these pieces.the only thing I can find is a tiny flake or flaw on the base which I have pictured next to a pencil tip for you to see the size.its very small and hardly noticible.but im picky.The piece has a beautiful creamy white color and is not stained.Nice early model and in great shape.

They are dressed in Greek or Roman garb. Unmarked. They have a partially glossy finish and are quite heavy. Parian, not bisque. Unmarked, definitely Antique. This is a beautiful antique porcelain figure of three children surrounded by an ormolu cage. I think it was at one time on a lamp. The figure appears German made. Possibly by the A.E. Muller factory and the cage looks to be French. Measures 9 1/2 inches high by 8 inches wide and is in overall excellent condition. Ormolu has some patina wear throughout the years, porcelain figure excellent besides the top of the boy's instrument and his one thumb. Very minor on display. This is a really Beautiful Antique White Bisque Parian Nude Female Figure Sculpture The piece measures 12.5" high. And the base is 6.25" x 4.25" The figure is in wonderful condition with one sad exception her foot in back is off at the ankle. Fortunately, the brake is behind the draping, so from front it is not apparent. Please see the photos. This is a great find! click picture to enlarge Here we have a real nice bisque porcelain planter which measures 5 1/2" tall. 7 1/2" wide and 3 1/2" deep. It is marked on the back GERMANY and it has a number beneath that but I can't make it out. It has no chips or cracks, just some smudges here and there that didn't come off with dish soap. Of Merrill Baumgardner, who was apparently a prolific collector, but many of the items were the possessions and collection of Helen Pope who had resided at the home since 1984 at the latest, according to local records. The collection was rich in Art Deco items of many flavors, deco lamps, glass, prints, all fine taste, accumulated over decades. A very nicely executed Parian statuette. Probably the Classical Goddess Demeter, Goddess of Harvest, we assume from the basket motif) Parian ware is intended to imitate a fine marble from the island of Paros. Antique Parian Ware White Porcelain Lg 10.5" Lady Head Bust w/Lace Veil MF #79
This is a classic antique Parian ware lady head bust. She is made of a pure white see through porcelain material which is covered with a subtle clear glaze protective finish. This lady was beautifully designed with excellent details. Her makers mark is impressed in the bottom of her base which reads MF. She also has the number 79 impressed on her lower back side. She is could be French. German or English. This lady is wearing a lacy veil and a lovely beaded necklace. I have taken several pictures for your better understanding. As to the condition. There is a damage on one side of her veil where I believe two beads similar to the other side of the veil chipped off. She stills displays beautifully. Especially because the white color makes the damage far less noticeable. There is also one very tiny flea bite at the very bottom of her base which ... morein no way affects the display, but I mention this to be thorough. There are of course, normal manufacturer defects in the porcelain. There are no other issues. This is all shown in the pictures. This is a good size sculpture measuring just over 10 1/2" high. She measures 6 1/4" across from shoulder to shoulder and is 4" deep from front to back. Her base measures 3 1/2" across and is 3 1/4" from front to back. She weighs 3lbs 2oz unboxed. They are in very nice condition and from a local estate that had many wonderful things. There are no chips or cracks. They could probably use a good soaking but are fairly clean. THe little girl has an impressed number of 3534, the little boy has an impressed number of 3532. These are pure white but some photos look a little greyed. it is my lighting. Charming Antique English Porcelain Parian Bust of a Boy in Hat As-is
This lovely English Porcelain Parian Figurine measures about 7.25" in height. It is broken and glued back together as pictured. This is how it was found and how it is being sold. The break is very clean the most noticeable spot is on his cheek and it is very mild. He show very well. I believe he would have been made by one of the finer manufacturers in England of the period such as Copeland or Mintons. He is not marked.

This is a beautiful pair of 16" tall antique Continental and most likely French figurines of a well dressed couple from the late 19th century. Quality and detail is exquisite. Very lifelike expressions on faces and raised intricate beading and decoration details throughout their elaborate dress from head to toe. Not being able to locate a mark at all would date them to earlier than 1892. They do resemble the work of VION& BAURY of Paris especially with the detail on the bases with the very sharp maroon design of C scrolls. She is missing two fingers on one right hand and on the other is good.PLEASE LOOK PICTURES NUMBER 13.Amazingly enough, these don't jump out as missing due to the positioning of her hands.The man also looks to have possibly been holding something else in addition to the bowl he is holding. And the putto is a separate piece joined. After casting, to the lower base. It also appears that the left arm may have also been a separately molded piece. Finally ~ there are two tiny air release holes at the back of the sculpture. All these clues speak of this being an early and finely made piece. Antique Parian Bust Of Clytie Emerging from Sunflower RC-20 Robert Cooke 8" Tall
Parian ware bust of Clytie picked from a North Carolina estate. Bust and detail are in good condition with no chips or cracks. It does look like there was a repair at the base. And indeed if you look at the inside of the base there is a screw that I think was used as part of the repair. Standing on a shelf or tabletop, however, you don't see it, as all of this is concealed beneath the lip of the sunflower from which Clytie is emerging. I am not an expert and originally assumed that this was a reproduction of a 19th century bust. but then I discovered that it is impressed RC 20 on the bottom. This is the maker's mark for Robert Cooke who one source indicates worked from 1871-1879 and is a maker that is listed in The Parian Phenomenon. Page 242. So honestly I'm not sure. I don't want to advertise it as something that it's ... morenot, which is why I've marked the age"unknown, but it could actually be old. Please examine the photos carefully as they depict the actual item you'll receive. It is dirty, and could use a good cleaning. For those that don't know it. The story of Clytie is below: There was once a Nymph named Clytie. Who gazed ever at Apollo as he drove his sun-chariot through the heavens. The figurine is a real piece of art. Sculpted by a talented ceramic artist Rowland James Morris from Hanley, Staffordshire. He studied at Hanley School of Art from 1860 to 1864 and then at the South Kensington Royal College of Art(1873) He worked as sculptor and modeler for Copeland, Wedgwood(1865-1873) and Moore Brothers(1885-1890) For Wedgwood Institute at Burslem, Morris was the sculptor of the panels and statue, including the statue of Josiah Wedgwood. He was also the chief designer modeler for Robinson& Leadbeater in Stoke. After 1890, he became a freelance ceramic artist. The figurine is marked R.J. The title is"Infancy of Jupiter" and the sculptor was Raphaelle Monti. This large figure dates from 1871. The infant Jupiter is seated on the lap of Amalthea. With a goat by their side. It is so finely detailed, every time I look at it I notice another delicate detail. Please excuse the reflections in the pictures. SIZE: The figure is 20 inches tall and weighs 13 pounds. CONDITION: The figure is in excellent condition. There are a few firing lines(manufacturing flaws) one on the base between the goat's front legs. PAIR OF ANTIQUE PARIAN FIGURES HAND PAINTED AND GILT 9 INCHES TALL ST. JOSEPH& MARY HOLDING BABY JESUS These beautifully crafted and matched religious figurines are made in the Chantilly. Old Paris, or German style. Hand painted in delicate shades of pink and blue. Their garments gleam with shiny gold pearls and designs. The gold crown on Mary's head is brilliant.
