For your consideration is an Antique Piano Baby Figurine made by Gebruder Heubach. A Piano baby is a figurine used to hold the edges down on the large shawls that would cover the piano. Doll sits 8 1/4" tall. The company. Which translates as Heubach Brothers, was established in 1843 by Georg Christoph and Phillipp Jakob Heubach when they purchased an existing porcelain factory in Lichte, Germany. The company began to manufacture items such as household pottery. Figurines and novelties, and in 1863 opened a local art school for sculptors. This training led to the company becoming renowned for its high quality and lifelike figurines, including their range of which are highly sought after by modern collectors. The company registered its‘sunburst’ mark in 1882. And by 1910 h ad begun to produce bisque dolls. Along with bisque doll heads ... morefor other manufacturers across Europe and the United States. Purchased long ago along with her mate and also a collection of about 50 Heubachs…she is guaranteed Heubach. As any Heubach collector can tell you, they are not all marked. This girl stands a massive 16” tall. She is holding a fan above her head. The fan is embellished with purple hand painted flowers. This girl has a very serene look on her face. See close-up pictures. She has intaglio blue eyes and coral colored blush and lips. There are ever so slight dimples on her cheeks. Her blonde hair is done in a top knot with a pink bow. Her dress is a pale greenish yellow with purple and gold embellishments of flowers and leaves and scrolls. There is one flaw ... morewhich is a shallow chip at the front right bottom edge. It has been painted in(paint matches well) and is not very visible. On the base. You might see slight smudges. This is where the painter held the item while decorating it. This is an original matching pair of Victorian era. Hand-painted bisque porcelain busts of a girl and a cavalier boy that is circa 1880's- 90's. This pair of charming bisque figures are unmarked. Judging from the technique, colors, and quality of this small busts I would say that they could have easily have been made by the GEBRUDER HEUBACH factory in Germany, but you can be the judge of that yourself. These delicately modeled antique bisque figurines features a elegant Victorian girl in a beautiful bonnet and handsome young Cavalier. Both are done in a bright jewel like pastel colors. Antique Bisque Piano Baby, Vintage Porcelain Doll, German, Heubach?
Here is a nice old Antique Bisque Piano Baby. Looks to be German but I'm not sure as I'm certainly not an expert. There are no markings on the bottom. It was one of many in my late mother's doll collection that she had for over 50 years and I know it was considered to be an antique when she bought it. She was a very knowledgeable and avid antique bisque doll collector. One of the legs was broken in the distant past and was repaired. Looks to be just a simple glue repair. Upon further inspection. Looks like some of the raised golden dots on the collar are gone too.most likely from handling through the years. I did not see this immediately and is not obvious. Also, tops of the toes on the right leg look flat/worn down from shelf wear through the years. Still, this piano baby certainly deserves a professional repair. The back is marked on the back with Heubach GH in oval mark. The bust is made of bisque porcelain and has been finely hand painted. The fair haired woman with blue eyes and red lips has a a creamy white colored shawl draped over her head and around her shoulders. Her light blode hair is peaking out from under the shawl and there is a pine cone shaped brooch in sage green and light brown on the front of her shawl. Down to his dimples, their pale blue eyes.with every crease in their clothing. He carries an umbrella, a book in hand his hat firmly upon his head, it reads on the base'I am off for a long Journey' she, with her reply, I am off with him' her large ruffled rimmed hat, a bag in hand and her umbrella as well. Their clothing is so nicely done and they each have tiny gold bead like accents on their clothing. Take a moment to scroll down thru, and enlarge if you need to, the pictures as they are an important part of the description as well. It is rare to find a pair of these antique Germany figures together. Check out the last pictures too, as I didn't ... morerealize until this evening and had to take a pic of it, that there is a crack? at the back of her neck. It is strange as at first I thought they painted a line across it, and it took me a bit to realize it is a crack because it doesn't go around and she hasn't been repaired. Not even sure how it could do that? It doesn't detract from her delightful charm, and I am sure you could do a slight repair on it, but she has been that way as long as I've had her and I just noticed it. I purchased the set at an Antique Auction awhile back and have had them displayed, drawing quite a bit of attention. They do need to be lightly cleaned, or you may leave them as they are. I did not want to damage them in doing so, and they are 1900 c. There is a mark on the bottom of each. The female mark is difficult to see and the male has a better mark, but someone glued felt to the bottom? I tried to pull it back and take a picture. Pair Antique Victorian Bisque Heubach Girls - Porcelain Figurines
On offer is this beautiful pair of large 13½" tall Victorian-era girls. Dressed in blue, with pink and yellow trim and spots of gold. Both sport big broad-brim hats, and yellow shoes. One holds a pink handbag, and the other holds a round yellow purse or ball. Each is marked on the rear of the base. Both figurines are in good condition, with no chips or cracks. Offered for auction is this adorable pair of Antique German? Heubach? Bisque Figurines depicting a darling little boy and girl. Each bottle feeding a baby deer or fawn. They have expressive inset. Intaglio eyes. Each figure measures approx. 7-1/2"high by about 6" deep, front to back and about 5-1/2" wide. Neither piece has any markings that I can find. As stated above this pair is in excellent antique condition. No notable issues are found with the exception of a firing crack under the boy figures arm at the sleeve. Given the age of this pair. Some imperfections should be expected, however, anything noteworthy will be mentioned. It is in need of a good cleaning. Lovely Heubach German bisque-Enfolded in ruffles and ribbons. The sweet baby is playing with his or her own toes. Though this sweet little figurine has an opening in the back for a nosegay. It is in all other respects a miniature"Piano Doll" Dating from the late 19 th Century. This gem is fine ground bisque, with delicate tinting and gold accents. It has all the quality and distinctive look of Heubach and is incised with what I believe are the numbers“1652” as shown. Apprx. 2 5/8” high x 4 ¼” long. CONDITION Beautiful condition. With perfect face and toes. I always do my best to describe any flaws in my items and want you to be aware of an area on the back rim of the opening, where the bisque is thinnest. Though smooth to the touch, it could be a post production flake. It is mostly on the inside of the rim and is ¼” long ... morex less than 1/16” deep. Because it does feel smooth and is on the inside rather than the outside, it could have happened when the piece was removed from the mold. This is an adorable little boy piano baby figurine seated on a tall chair. He is wearing what looks like. A white sweater and light blue shorts and a peach hat. He is holding a piece of chalk in his hand and wearing wire glasses. The figurine is done in lovely soft pastel colors. Approximately 9 inches tall and 3 1/4 inches wide at widest point. Unmarked but judging from the quality he appears to be a Heubach creation. There is a minor chip to the inside of his hat that has been colored in and isn't noticable. These 10 ½inch or 27cm tall pair of German bisque figurines. Circa the late 1800s, are a particularly lovely duo. The matched pair wearing Pink look so gorgeous. The faces are quite well modelled and artistically painted. They are marked with a W in script or calligraphic in red on each bases. The little girls face is just so angelic.There are no chips cracks or repairs on either figurine. But there is a mark to one bases which is a firing flaw and as it has been painted over at origin.see photo. These two have character type faces that remind me of the Gebruder Heubach dolls. This is a sweet signed German bisque of a boy. The unusual thing about him is the umbrella. It frames his face nicely to highlight it. He's a whopping 10-1/2" tall& about 3-1/2" ... moreacross the front. His face& hands feature flesh colored paint. But the remainder is simply decorated with browned gold paint& bright gold on the'dots' on his knickers. I have provided pictures of the base that shows the mark, an entwined HG, which I'm sure is the Heubach mark. There are some'splits' in the bisque at the base, but these are factory flaws. Amazingly, he retains the remnants of an original label that reads HELLO SWEETHEART. This was likely a Valentine for someone special. The mold# is 8356. Please check the pictures. I am starting this at what I think is a fair price& have no reserve on it.

This is a lovely figurine of a German Girl holding the edge of her dress of her head. The bisque figure is 5 inches tall and 3 5/8 inches wide. The figure is marked with a Made in Germany blue mark. Though it is hard to read. We believe this was made by Heubach. We have seen a larger version of this that was marked. It dates circa 1900. There is a hairline by the feet and a glaze skip and also a hairline at the bottom on the back. There are no other chips, cracks or repairs. It does have some soiling. Figure measures about 7 1/2" tall and about 5 1/4" wide. It is in excellent condition overall. There is an area of shallow chipping to inside aspect of back hem of dress on her left extending about 3/8" and not more than 1/8" wide(tried to show in close-up photo) There is a small flake to top of dress at left hand. Mostly on the back side and measuring about 1/8" across. There is a shallow flake to right middle finger about 3/16" long. The right little finger may have a small loss to tip but ... moreis decorated over so probably in the making. I don't see any other chips or cracks. Marked on base with impressed"562" and"3" as well as incised double diamond or figure eight type mark. Beautifully hand-decorated with great attention to detail. Eyes are intaglio type. Antique German Bisque Piano Baby Unmarked and Possible Heubach or Hertwig
Up for auction is this adorable bisque piano baby. It appears to be hand-painted. I see no chips or cracks. I tried to get close up pictures of her toes and fingers. The big toe on one foot looks a little odd. But think it is made that way. She also needs to be cleaned. Looks like dust in the crevices. Please see pictures for details. It is Unm arked and may possibly be made by Heubach or Hertwig. The baby is approx. 8" long and 2 1/2" at widest point. This came from my parents smoke free estate. I am no expert on this baby.
