Vintage Mid Cent.German Black Forest Coffee Table + 2 End Tables Hand Carved
Up for bids is a very unique set of 3 1950's Hand Carved Black Forest tables. You are getting a rectangle coffeee table and 2 end tables. The coffee table measures 18 3/4 tall by 55 inches long and 22 inches wide. There is some slight wear on the top around the outside of the inlaid carvings. It appears to be either fading or some slight water damage. Nothing in our opinion that cannot be repaired. The metal table edging does have sone scrapes and a small crack. The inside carved area is in perfect condition.The 2 end tables are 2 tier and they measure 20 inches wide by 26 1/2 long by 26 inches tall. Each table has a crack in the glass where the upper tier braces connect to the bottom. One crack is all the way across and the other is just an inch or so. Cleaned them up with Murphy's wood soap and orange oil and then applied Liquid Gold. Certainly some minor dings to the wood and some scratching from years of use. But still look great. The end table leaves has a wood slide pull that holds the leaves in the up position. They are all there. The leg and drawer hardware all match and appear appropriate to the furniture. Only ... morething is see to report is that one of the leaves has a small piece out of it where it hinges at the table. Finish was matched well at some point in the past and the issue just adds to the personality of the furniture. I am not a fan of new things or IKEA disposable furniture! The end tables have metal wheels and end caps on the legs. The coffee tables sets on its' legs. Never had rollers on it. I see no cracks, splits or repairs(other than leaf noted above) to report to you. The coffee table has a nice scalloped trim that comes up on 3 sides of the top of the table. The end tables are 27.5" tall. By 27-5/8" across, by 18.75" wide(36.25" wide with the leaves up) Sorry, other items that can be seen in the pics besides the coffee and end tables described here are not included. Made of very heavy resin that looks much like wood(maybe syrocco) Seems original color was gold and at some point someone attemped a restore or tried to paint these. I say tried because these could use some TLC! Small table is 12 inches by 12 inches and stands about 17 inches tall. Medium table is 21 1/2 inches wide by 13 1/2 inches and stands about 22 1/2 inches tall. All legs are present. Washers are not all here and some are a little rusty. These are being sold"as found.
