It is solid quartersawn oak table with a pierced carved skirt under the top which is very deep, like 5 inches and a pierced carved skirt under the stretcher which is 2 inches deep. it has 4 brass decorative corner pieces at each corner of where the skirt joins. they are a nice feature, not really needed for support or strength, just add beauty to the piece. the legs have two grooves on either side of each side of the legs and the legs have a doric capital at the top. the legs have a turned portion that connects to the stretcher and then they curve outward and have a bit of a carved toe on the front side of each foot. the stretcher is a large square one that would allow storage or placement for whatever you might choose to put there. a great size. it is 24 inches by 24 inches at the top and 30.5 inches tall. it is as solid as a rock, sits level and perfect, has no wiggles or wobbles. it is a very sturdy table. it is all original and has no damage or repairs that i am aware of. it has two support braces and corner blocks under the stretcher. it has however been refinished at some point before i got it and i have owned it a long time. i have had it is storage for years and i did clean and polish it before listing it. a really nice table. it may be picked up at my home or shipped at buyer's expense. good luck

The octagonal beveled edge white marble top is in very good condition for its age. The bottom of the marble top is signed J.M. Bailey#24. The patina on the very Ornate Solid Walnut Table Base is absolutely beautiful. As are the design details and the workmanship. As you can see, the top of the Table Base is adorned on all four sides with lovely linear fluted carving that encases center rectilinear Burl Walnut accents that sit above fancy incised carved center aprons and side cornices. Again, this design configuration is repeated on all four sides. Next. You will notice an elegant center turned post with a distal turned finial. This elegant center turned post connects the four lovely pierced gallery legs that are graced with incised carvings, stylized ships wheel spokes, scrolls, smaller turned posts and finials, burl accents and fluted details. This splendid hall tree features fabulous pierced carvings. Burl walnut accents, brass hat/ coat hooks, its original marble top and the original fancy iron drip pans that are each embossed on the inside" S.F.Co.Cin.O" This fine 19th century hall tree measures 78 3/4 inches in height from the floor to the very top. Height from the floor to the top of the marble measures 27 3/4 inches, with a total width of 37 inches and a total depth at the base of 11 inches and this hall tree weighs approximately 70 lbs. The mirror measures 19 1/4 inches by 11 inches and the marble measures 14 inches wide by 10 1/4 inches deep. Each of the iron drip pans measures 6 1/2 inches by ... more7 1/2 inches. This lovely hall tree stand offers 6 double brass hat coat hooks perfect for hanging those jackets. Coats, purses and hats, the 2 in the middle are a little different and may be vintage replacements. wonderful 1850 pierced carved rosewood bed by alexander roux pomegranates e
for sale is a fantastic antique rosewood pierced carved rosewood victorian bed by alexander roux made circa 1850-1860. i have had this bed in storage for a long long time. it was in a barn in a room with other antiques. at any rate. I had stacked hay in front of this room that had been there for years. this years drought allowed me to feed the hay out of the way so i was able to recover this bed and several other pieces that i have had stored there for years. i did a bit of work on this bed a long time ago, but don't remember what all i did. i may have stripped it but have forgotten. anyway, i dug it out the first of july and have had it on my porch ever since. i cleaned it as it was filthy, there were a few pieces of trim and carving missing, that i replaced, but none of which were significant pieces. the top crest is totally complete ... moreand has pomegranates which was a signature of alexander roux. there are some veneer bubbles in the back of the bed which i reglued and a few on the head board but are of no consequence as there are covered by the mattress. this is a full size bed, it is 61 inches wide, the foot board is about 41 inches tall, the head board is 68 inches tall, the rails are about 20 inches tall and as you can see from the pictures are very ornate in their shape as well as the carvings place in just the right places. the rosewood grain is wonderful, i don't know how well it will show up in the pictures but it is wonderful. the pierced carved crest on the head board is breath taking, it has nuts, grapes, roses, pomegranates,and other important particulars too numerous to mention. the foot board has great carvings and curves on the sides. at one time it had large porcelain casters on the inside of the foot and head board which are long gone. i put casters in the bottom of the legs and it rolls like a wagon. the rails fasten the head and foot board together by large and long dowels that push into both the head board and foot board. there are metal brackets on the foot board and head board which h

large antique rosewood belter arm chair pierced carved
up for auction is a great belter arm chair. it is made of rosewood and features a wonderful pierced carved crest with roses. Victorian Oak Settee w/Carved Pierced Back and Top Rail Red & Cream Velvet
A beautiful settee that will add warmth. Comfort, and beauty to any decor. This Victorian era settee is constructed from oak. It is a solid sturdy piece in amazing condition for the age. The carved back crest of this has an ornate geometric design in a half circle at the center. There are two carved scrolling leaf sections flanking the half circle and topped with a gently scrolled& incised section of wood. There are tiny carved"wings" at the top of each side. These protrude out approximately 1.5" At the center back of the settee there is a stunning pierced& carved section with a wheat sheath design. The details on the carved areas show the skill of an amazing craftsman. This has a red velvet upholstery covering the seat and back. There are creamy gold colored patches on the upper corners of the seat back and on the ... morefront as well. The colors blend nicely together and the neutrality makes it an easy match with many other colors. There is also padded armrests with matching red velvet. There are two square sections on the back of this that are also covered with red velvet. This measures as follows: 48.5" wide from side to side at the top(this measurement was taken at the outside edge of the"wings" at the top) 38 7/8" height taken at the center back, 25.5" overall depth, 20.5" seat depth, 18" seat height, 24.5" arm height to the top of the padded area, There is barely any wear or soiling on the upholstery and this piece is in amazing condition for the age. It is apparent that this has been well cared for. There are some spots of white paint on the top back wood from this being rubbed against a wall. for sale is a great contoured skirted pieced carved walnut marble turtle top table. near mint condition with no repairs or missing parts or pieces that i can see. there are a very few very minor scuff marks on the legs. for auction is a very high quality pierced carved walnut sofa. it is a large one being 73 inches wide at the widest point. 43 inches tall, 16 inches to the top of the sitting surface, with a sitting surface 22 inches deep. again a very high quality, very well carved piece. the roses are wonderful as well as the grapes and other carved details. my pictures as usual are very poor quality and do not show the detail of the carvings, but they are quite well done. i am not sure of the maker, possibly belter, but there were many great cabinet makers in the 1850's to 1880's. the sofa is museum quality, near mint condition. no damages i can see or find, very solid and sturdy. it belonged to an elderly lady who was moving in with her daughter. i bought it nearly 15 years ago. she said the sofa had always been in their family, stating that it ... morebelonged to her grandparents and that it was old when she was a child. i expect it was made circa 1860 or 70. it has the original brass casters and rolls like a wagon. the elderly woman had it recovered about 5 years before i bought it, so the fabric is about 20 years old but is actually new. the fabric is perfect as far as i can tell. also, this sofa is the most comfortable antique sofa i have ever sat upon. i have never been fond of the fabric and have thought of having it recovered, but since i have 15 or 20 sofas, i really did not find it necessary to do that and i have just lived with the fabric that is on it. i hope someone sees it that likes this fabric. the wood work need cleaned and polished as i have done nothing with it since i bought it and i will be glad to do that for the new owner if they would like for me to do so. i stuck it in front of the fireplace to take pictures, but will have to move it back into a room that is just stuffed full of things anyway, a beautiful piece, but i don't need it. i paid 2500 for it when i bought it, but i am starting it at 2000. it may be picked up at my home or shpped at the buyer's expense. i expect shipping anywhere is th

Up for auction is a fine old Chinese Carved Pierced Hardwood Stand for a figurine. Statue, carving or scholar art piece. This pedestal stand has five flat surfaces. Very nice shape and displays well. It measures 3 1/4" tall by 11 3/4" in total width and the five surfaces each measures between 2 1/8-2 1/2" across each top. It is in very nice condition with no chips or cracks. It is fresh out of a recent old estate collection of Agatha Aronson. See my other auctions for other Chinese stands. Matching pair of salvaged. 2 sided, antique brackets. They have pierced, bevelled carving with incised carving. Their ends are nicely contoured with ornately carved medallions above. The wood is walnut. Each one measures approx. 14 inches by 5 1/8 inches. They are almost 2 inches thick. If a smaller corbel/bracket is desired, their length can be cut in half VERY easily. This bracelet has a stunning pierced design of flowers. Vines and flowers. The hinge and closure are chased silver. I have not tested the silver content of the silver. The silver section is marked with a block CHINA signature. The hinge is missing a small rivet which makes the hinge just slightly loose on one side. The bracelet measures just over 1 3/4" wide. The bracelet measures 9" around on the outside so should easily hold a 7" or so wrist. The bracelet is quite stunning. The silver could use some cleaning. The wood is free from any damage. This magnificent piece has four panels. Two matching maidens on each opposing side. The design has been carved into the vase then glazed around the patterns sections. This technique translates to a flowing water effect on the base and enhancing the movement of the leaves in the trees are the piercings or cut outs. The dark black of the maiden’s hair is contrasted by the light pastel greens and gold. Mauve is the color of the maiden’s dress and the flowers growing around her. This vase is signed by the maker.
