Half Moon Accent Table. Made of dark wood, not sure what type. Has beautiful spiral carved legs. In amazing shape considering it's most likely from the 40's(based on my research of the table- it used to have a green triangle label that has since fallen off. Still has the brass manufacturer plate though) Made by Imperial Grand Rapids, Mich. an area that was famous for its furniture making. Measures about 2' 7" across and high. And 13" in width on the top. Very well built and in very good condition. I hate to see this go but I'm moving and I have 5 other tables. I don't know why but I have a table addiction. wine tasting Wrought iron and Chestnut Wine Tasting Table Demi Lune Shape• Circa 1970( Great Rustic Look. Wonderful Half Moon Form. Would work with Spanish, Gothic or Modern Interiors. Probably made in the 1960's or 1970's. Please be sure to look at all my photos and read the annotations before bidding. Please feel free to send along any questions via email. Just the kind of table that would look great all decked out at your New Years Party! The table has a chestnut top that is an inch and a half thick. Chestnut looks a lot like Oak but is a little lighter in weight and often has a worm eaten look. The across the top it is 15-1/2 inches thick The over all dimensions of the table are 63 inches wide by 35 deep and 28 high. As you can see the table has leaves at the ends which extend it's depth by 13 inches. There is a replaced hinge ... moreon one of the leaves. This is what it looks like open. The rear front foot which you can see in this photograph is a replacement. The half moon stretcher should end with a nice wrought iron ball. One of the two of these balls is missing. Don't ask me how it got lost. I have no idea. As opposed to trying to find or make a matching ball it will be easier to find two finials you like and replace the missing ball and the one that is still there. The old finials just screw on and the threads are there so it will not be difficult to attach a new pair of finial or ends. This is what the original ball end looks like. The primary wood used to create this stunning table is walnut. Burled walnut was used on the top and apron which provides an interesting grain to this antique half moon table. Satinwood string inlays adorn ... morethe legs and gently curve around the top as well. A rosewood band can be found at the very bottom of the apron. On top is a large Georgian style satinwood fan inlay and satinwood ovals were inlaid at the top of each leg. Each element combines to give the table a toned-down Empire style feel. Overall condition of this table is excellent. The finish has been well kept and the wood looks great. We would like to point out that there are some small veins in the burled walnut veneer on the top. We have included a picture. These are in the wood and were finished over into the piece.
