LOVELY VINTAGE WAGNER & APEL GERMANY EXOTIC NUDE WOMAN & DOG PORCELAIN FIGURINE
Offered for your bid is a very lovely porcelain nude figurine from Wagner& Apel of Germany. The exotic figurine displays a blond haired woman who appears to be sunbathing. She is reading a book and she is wearing a large sunhat. She is resting up against her dog which appears to be a Borzoi or Russian Wolfhound. The porcelain is a mixed media piece as it is an all glazed porcelain with the exception of the woman which is bisque. The piece measures 9 1/2" x 4" x 6" It is marked on the bottom W& A with a crown. It is in very fine condition with no chips. Cracks or fractures. There is some very minor scuffing on parts of the woman's left leg and arm which is very common on bisque porcelain pieces. There is no box. An antique hand painted porcelain figurine by Hilla Peyk for Bertram Wagner& Apel featuring a boy with a bouquet of flowers in one hand and a gift box in the other. Readying himself for a kiss. Figurine has beautiful hand painted features and hues of bright red. Brown and green and is presumably from early to mid 1900s. There is general age wear and the finish has taken a milky look but this can be restored by the right parties. No chipping. Hairlines or breakage. Wagner& Apel produced around the same time as Goebel did and it is unclear who influenced whom. But they are very similar in style, although W& A are much more rare today. Figurine weighs 12.4 oz. An antique figurine. Presumably early to mid 1900s, by Bertram Wagner& Apel featuring a little boy with a fez playing a musical instrument to his dachshund pet. Hand painted in maroon and red. Lavender pink and brown with carefully painted facial features, figurine is both rare and beautiful. There is general age wear and the finish has taken a milky look but this can be restored by the right parties. No chipping, hairlines or breakage. Wagner& Apel produced around the same time as Goebel did and it is unclear who influenced whom. But they are very similar in style, although W& A are much more rare today. Figurine weighs 4.4 oz. She's only wearing a large hat on her long curled blond hair. Fine gold shoes. Close to her a beautifull resting barzoi dog. Magnificent. Very fine and detailed. Marked underneath. In good condition.
