This is an absolutely beautiful bisque porcelain statue by Vion& Baury. She stands 16 1/2" tall. The base measures 5 1/2" across. This is a very heavy piece weighing almost 6 pounds. The attention to detail and quality is amazing! She is in excellent condition with only a few minor flaws. There are a couple of chips at the base and one of her hands looks as if it has been repaired. There are some minor imperfections due to age and wear. Please see photos. 19TH C. MASSIVE VION & BAURY PARIS BISQUE PORCELAIN MAN & WOMEN FIGURNES ANCHOR
Being offered is a Superb Massive Pair of 19th C. Vion& Baury Bisque Porcelain Man& Women Figurines. These figurines were produced by Gille studio and modeled by artist Charles Baury. The Paris porcelain studio of Gille was founded in 1845 to produce bisque busts. Statuettes and groupings in the realistic style. Charles Baury was a modeler at Gille Jeune and together with Desire Vion acquired the firm on the rue Paradis-Poissonnerie, later moving production to Choisey-le-roi in 1875. Their pieces are marked with a green overglaze anchor on the base. The quality& detail of these figurines are truly exquisite especially the life like expressions seen on their faces and raised intricate beading found throughout their clothing. Although these pieces will display quite nicely there are condition issues and each will be sold in"AS ... moreIS" condition. The women: her head has been re-attached and a few ruffles on her hat have been repaired(see pictures 11,12) I see no other issues. The man: a small area of his cape toward the bottom has been professional repaired nicely done, the top of his bow& arrow are missing, there is a chip on the underside of the base(see pictures 9,10) I see no other issues. The man stands 21 3/4" tall, the women 22 1/2" tall.

Rare HUGE Antique Sevres Vion Baury French Paris Porcelain Man Figurine Figure
This is a beautiful rare large hand painted porcelain figure created in France circa 1870-90. He is very heavy weighted and a large size at 19 1/4 inches high by 7 inches wide. And weighs a whopping 11.12 lbs. The green anchor mark of the Vion& Baury factory has worn away, but is partially found on his lady mate listed in my separate listing. His face is very finely handpainted and he is walking in the meadow holding a baby goat as the momma goat looks up lovingly. This figure displays very well however the momma goat has one broken ear and the bottom of his scruff and the baby goat has one broken ear. There is a shallow chip on the back bottom base and the pink flowers are chipped on top. There is a tight hairline on the back of the figure near the bottom and also under the base. It is very tight and the figure feels very solid. Superb ... morefigure for the collector! He is a superb example for the collector and has a lady mate in the last picture that will be offered in a separate listing. If interested please take a look. Has a Green Under-Glaze Anchor mark as pictured on the base. Made in the late 19th C. by the French Company Vion& Baury(C.1880's Time Period. Measures approximately 9' in height, and the condition is just fine. There are no hairlines, cracks, or repairs. There are some rim edge chips on the lower part of the base as pictured, this rim section measures about 1.75' Also, some loss to the gold decoration that runs around the oval base that is commensurate with the age. VION& BAURY Bisque Porcelain Pair of ANTIQUE FRENCH FIGURINES Godesses of"Fire" and"Water" circa 1850 Offered for your consideration is a pair of museum quality antique figurines. Circa 1850. These are French bisque porcelain figurines of rare, detailed quality. The two figurines depict"La Source" or"Water" and"Le Feu" or"Fire" The figure, Le Feu" is seen warming her hands over a small fire burning in an urn atop a decorative pedestal. Le Source" or"Water" is shown holding a vessel, standing near a stream, perhaps to fill the vessel with fresh water. Both figures are beautifully dressed in filmy. Long gowns of pink, light blue and white, which are decorated with raised gilded designs. One has a gilded belt and both gowns are decorated with gilded borders as ... morewell. Their hands are extremely delicate, as are their facial features, the decorations in their hair, the folds in the apparel, etc. The colors are rich and the hand painted details remain fresh and excellently finished. There is very minimal loss. Which was repaired, many years ago and in need of repair again. The pinkie finger on the right hand of"Fire" figure is missing. Both figurines, other than that, are in marvelous condition. Every fold of their gowns, capes, their hair, facial features, all beautifully rendered. The clear, authentic and recognizable markings can be found on the underside of each base, in the form of a dark green anchor.These lovely creatures stand 16 1/2" tall. These figurines were in our home from as far back as my early childhood. And I acquired them after my parents passed away in 1985.They were in my family's possession from 1935 to present. C1900 Set of 12 German Dresden Porcelain Reticulated Plates Hand Painted, This listing is for a circa 1880s. French porcelain figural group of 2 cats in a basket by Vion& Baury. It measures 5 inches or 12.5 cm high. And is 4 ¾ inches or 12 cm at its widest. The piece features two white cats standing on their hind legs leaning over the edge of the basket. The cats have a pink and blue bow tied around their necks. The basket has two small wreath handles on both sides and a basket weave pattern in the porcelain. Antique Vion Baury French Sevres Porcelain Bisque Cherub Shoe Figurine Dresden
This is a beautiful rare to find early porcelain French bisque figure of two sweet cherubs hugging on the end of a pretty blue shoe. It was created mid 1800s by the Vion& Baury factory of France. You usually see this model made by other companies in a larger size and not quite as finely detailed as this one. It measures 4 x 3 1/4 x 2 1/4 inches and displays beautifully. Just two small shallow chips to one side of the ruffle, hard to notice on display due to the white ruffles. I can't say how it is attached to the wooden base, but I see no screws, etc. so must be glued to it.

Pair Vion et Baury Antique French Bisque/Porcelain Statues/Figurines 20" Marked
Up for auction is this pair of 1870's French bisque statues of a man and woman by Vion and Baury. They are twenty inches tall and eight inches wide each. Each figure weighs approximately 10 pounds. The pair are in excellent condition with no chips. Fleabites, cracks etc. The exception to this is the male figures left hand which is joined to the wrist by an old repair in the form of an inner peg. There is no loss of bisque and the hand was glued securely to the wrist but has become separated. When glued there will be little appearance of any damage. The colors of these figures are astounding! The turquoise. Pink, light blue and teal are remarkably brilliant and true. They seem to be in wedding clothing and it appears that she is weeping. I suspect that there is a popular story that is associated with this couple. On the base of the woman ... morethere is a"VB" in blue written in a three dimensional marking. On the male statue there is a black anchor marking. They are indeed an attractive couple. Check out my! This is an outstanding pair of Vion and Baury figurines. Photos 8 and 9 show the green anchor mark. The figurines are just a shade over 15 inches. They are in excellent condition. Photos 7 and 10 show what appear to be some type of stress mark on the male. Possibly stress cracks. Those are the only 2 flaws I can see. Everything else including the fingers are perfect. Note the bunny in his hunt sack on his lower right side. The female is at the water trough filling a jug. She has a bouqate of flowers at her right side and filling the jug for the flowers in her right hand. Everything on her is perfect. I have posted 12 photos which is the max for ebay. This piece is done in the Vion& Baury style but I was unable to identify the mark which are the letters"AM" encased in a cartouche(see picture 11) The Paris porcelain studio of Gille was founded in 1845 to produce bisque busts. Statuettes and groupings in the realistic style. Charles Baury was a modeler at Gille Jeune and together with Desire Vion acquired the firm on the rue Paradis-Poissonnerie, later moving production to Choisey-le-roi in 1875. This is an early French bisque statue of a beautiful woman in the garden with a swallow. It was created by the Vion& Baury factory of France circa 1860-70. She is a large and heavy weighted piece at 21 inches to the top of her extended arm. The detailing is exquisite and she has a beautiful realistically painted face. She displays very well however has suffered a broken finger. The swallow was repaired and I think part of that finger on the hand holding the swallow. I also believe there were three birds at one time on her dress that are now missing. The tiara in her hair has some wear. Lovely Vion& Baury Porcelain Bust"Ete" Or Summer After Louis Kley- 4 Seasons This is a lovely porcelain bust by Vion& Baury after Louis Kley. The piece is titled"Ete" Which is French for Summer. This is one of a series of four busts that represent the four seasons. I actually will be listing all four seasons this evening. The reason that I am listing them seperately is that one of the four does not exactly match the other three. The bust measures approx. 9 3/4" high with a base that measures approx. 3 1/2" in diameter. The piece is signed with the early raised monogram signature for Vion& Baury, not the stamped anchor mark. Examples of this age are hard to find. The piece is in good condition with the exception of some paint wear and firing lines that are typical of porcelain of this vintage. Vion et Baury Bisque Porcelain Figurine Green Anchor 1875-1889 The Lunch Pail
A charming Vion et Baury bisque porcelain figurine from France. A sweet country maiden with long. Blonde curls and dressed her best, is carrying a lunch pail and a round of bread on her way to the first day of school. The piece has social significance, likely being manufactured in the year the Third French Republic was created, bringing to all of France the end of political agitation, and a return to the vast social changes begun largely by the efforts of the wife of Napoleon III, the Empress Eugenie. During her husband's reign she worked tirelessly to give girls greater access to education, overseeing the building over 800 new schools in the nation's farming villages, or communes. The result was that the French Republic, at the time the only Democracy in all of Europe, realized a rate of literacy unprecedented among other European ... morenations. Height: 13-1/4" Width(Approximate) 4-1/2" The figure bears a good. Strong green anchor factory mark on the underside from the V&B Choisy-le-Roi factory, dating the piece from the mid 1870's to the factory close in 1889. Typical of Vion and Baury is the lifelike modelling, delicate facial features, attention to fabric draping and very careful and highly detailed painting of fabric. It would have taken hours to apply the tiny dots of color to this figurine. Gilt"buttons" are just about perfect, and there is some minimal loss(ruboff) to the gold in the location of the peplum hem on the backside. Our young lady stands upon an especially nice decorative base containing gilt scrolls and flourishes. And also a floral medallion. The entire piece is finished in the bisque, except for the ground and tree stump, which have a glossy glaze. There is a small flake to the blue on the very bottom edge of the base at the back. Aside from that. The figure is surprisingly intact. On a scale of 1 to 100 I would give this figurine a 95. This item is being sold without a reserve. Antique large french Bisque/porcelain Vion & Baury Young man with bird statue
from my personal collection. Have owned for over 40 years,non-smoker,kept away from sunlight. He is a stunning 19' tall and approx 6 1/2' in diameter. signed P. duboy. At base he is looking at his bird and is holding a horn. And holding a shoulder bag. I purchased this many years ago with a couple of Vion& baury pieces.This one is not marked but I believe it is Vion& baury as not all of their pieces were marked with the black anchor stamp. they were the founders of the rue de paradis poissonniere.A French factory that started in 1845,we believe this to be late Victorian. He does have a broken small finger.A tiny loss or flea bite to the gold trim towards base,and a factory 1/4' hairline at base. French Bisque Porcelain Figurines "The CAVALIER & The INNKEEPER" Vion-Baury?
I am offering here a wonderful pair of 12" Tall Fine Bisque Porcelain Figurines. The dapper Cavalier and the sweet Innkeeper. The marks on the bottom of each figure are not clear to me and look more the artist's signature rather than a makers mark. Because of the quality of these figurines, I think they could have been made by Vion-Baury or even Jean Gille. The beautiful faces and complex details in the mold all point to this having been made by an accomplished bisque maker, in France between 1850-1880. Our Cavalier is dressed in all of his Aristocratic Regalia and the Innkeeper carries the simple tools of her trade, a tall tankard and her chaterlaine full of keys. The white figures have beautiful hand painted accents in shades of the popular French Blue. Gold is used to trim the elaborate costumes. Her tankard is topped with a charming ... morelittle mouse with cheese. Nice touch. The pieces are in Fairly good condition. Her head has been repaired and not by a professional and he is missing his fingers and the blade to his sword. None of these issues are very distracting from the absolute quality of this piece.
