Rare& Unusual Antique Yellowware/ Yellow Ware vessel with a sea life motif. It is 5.25 inches tall and has a shell bowl supported by intertwined coral with stylised fish. The size is perfect that it could have been used to serve salt; maybe. Sea salt at the table. There are a couple of small bites at edge of bowl; please consult last photo and wear to paint at coral and gold accents on the outer surface of the bowl. It is signed. Meissen Sweet Meat Dish with Reclining Man in Blue and White ~No Reserve!~
Georgeous Meissen Sweet Meat dish or Candy dish with Reclining Man Figurine! As you can see from the pictures this peice in great condtion with the only flaws I can find being the chip on his foot and the small chip off his cuff. These can be seen in the pictures focused on these areas. Please contact me if you need more pictures of these areas or any other. I am happy to provide more pictures and answer any questions. The bottom is etched with 1842. Painted in the blue underglaze with 37. and stamped with the number 125 The Meissen symbol is also quite prominent in the bottom. My research indicates that this mark was used from 1850-1924. The peice measures 4.25" tall. 7" long and about 5.25" wide including his coat The color is vivid and I can see no cracks in the glaze. Breaks or chips other than the ones mentioned and shown ... morein the pictures. This peice was displayed in a china cabinet in my grandmother's smoke free home out of the sun. The history I have on this peice is that it was purchased in Germany at the end of World War II by my grandmother who was stationed there with my grandfather and my father. My grandmother just past away at 96. There is no questions this peice is authentic. I am not an expert. But I do know it's history and have been told that because of this history there's not doubt of it's authenticity. This beautiful blue and white sweet meat dish seems to be fairly rare. I have had a difficult time finding this peice in the blue and white. This would be a great addition to any avid Meissen collectors collection. I have for you this evening a beautiful example of porcelain made at the kilns of English porcelain makers Copeland Spode and dates from the early twentieth century I believe. This piece is made of fine grade porcelain and has been cast into a classic seashell mold design with frolicking putti. I believe this piece to be a sweet meat dish. The putti are amazingly well detailed for this maker and the shell dish is so delicate and elegant. This is an amazing piece. This piece is stunning and will make a unique addition to your collection. This will look amazing no matter how you choose to display it. Item dimensions and dating: All measurements are approximate. This piece measures 12" long and stands around 10" tall at the highest point. This piece dates from the early 20th century by the marks if I am interpreting them correctly. ... moreItem condition report: This piece is in nice condition with no chips or crazing. Large RARE Antique Sweet Meat Centerpiece Porcelain Compote Lady Winged Lions KE
~ HAVE A FABULOUS DAY~ A rare find in surviving utilarian centerpiece as ornate as this one. Circa 1870 looks to be German or Austrian. There are no makers marks to identify it. Very fine quality in making the lady figurine and the winged lions. The large top bowl is in the shape of a sea shell. This has no damage that we could find and no repairs. One of the lions wings looked like it has a small chip but upon closer inspection I see the glaze going past the edge of the tip so if it was a small chip it was done during the making of this piece.Anyway a super rare find we feel.This is 18" tall by 12 1/2" across a large piece. I have for auction a magnificent Sweet Meat Dish Figurine by MEISSEN in Germany. It measures approx. 8 1/4" tall and approx. 12 1/4" in length. It displays a well groomed gentleman holding the sweet meat dish; excellent hand painted art work; very pleasing. It bears the Meissen stamp as well as an impressed number. I cannot find any damage. No chips, no cracks, no repairs and the gold highlights are excellent. This item will be well packed, its heavy so will need extra postage and double packaging to keep him safe until he reaches his new home. S&H is at the expense of the buyer. There is some issues with one of the baskets. It looks like it was broken then repaired and someone tried to paint that basket. The right hand of the boy looks the same. It looks like it was repaired and painted as well. There is a chip missing from the brim of his hat. I do not have the broken piece. The rest of this piece is in good condition. The flowers on the baskets are all 3 dimensional, something I have not seen on any of the similar pieces I've found during my research. This is a great piece!
