Up for auction is a beautiful large. White ceramic cat that I purchased in England 10 years ago. The antiques dealer, who specializes in antique English pottery, said that the cat is a rare Scottish pottery cat from 1880. He said that he has never seen another cat this large. The cat measures approximately 14" tall(to tip of ears) and 8" in length at the base. It is a heavy piece. There are remains of gilt on the cat's collar and fur. The cat is in excellent condition. This is an adorable pair of pug figurines in the style of Meissen. I believe they may be Staffordshire. However, they are unmarked. A previous owner glued bits of green felt on their feet to protect a table or mantle, and I was afraid to remove it for fear of damaging them. VERY FINE 19TH CENTURY STAFFORDSHIRE SHERRATT STYLE COW BULL FIGURINE
Last auction on this one at a rock bottom price for 1 day only.This auction is for a very finely crafted early 19th century Staffordshire cow or bull figurine. This one is not crudely done as so many of the early Staffordshire figurines are. The painting and modeling of this piece are just beautiful. It measures about 6" long and about 3 3/4" high. It is in good condition but does have a few minor losses. There is a small divot in the back on the base. A almost nothing flake on one horn and a small chip on the greenery in back of the bull. Large Scottish Pottery White Cat Circa 1880 Staffordshire Style
Up for auction is a Scottish Pottery cat that was purchased in England in 2003. I have the paperwork(see photo) and the cat was dated circa 1880. It is a Staffordshire style cat with a painted face and gilt details. There are firing holes on the back and on the bottom(see photos) The cat is in excellent condition. It measures approx. 13 1/2" tall to tip of ear and base is approx. 7 1/4" long x 3 1/2" wide(at widest point) Receipt says"rare" on it. I have never seen another cat like this. Up for your consideration is this antique very stately looking Old Looking Dog Breed. Maybe some type of Spaniel or Poodle, I just don't know. I would say that he is of the Staffordshire style looking. He is marked Germany and number 4. Measures 5 1/2" tall x 5" long x 2 1/4" deep. Has wonderful wavy locks for his coat, a sweet blue bow and the gold locked on his collar. He is in excellent condition. A little surface dust, I've left as found. No paint loss, no chips or hairlines or cracks or repairs noticed. Shows very light wear and has been well taken care of. Sits fairly flat just a little wobble. Weighs on his own 7.1 oz.
